Been working with weights off and on since I was a teenager. I quit lifting for a time (maybe about 10 years off and on), to focus on another sport; but since quitting, I have been trying to get back into the groove again. Prior to 2004, I could easily go up and down between 140 lbs and 165 lbs, usually staying lean in the process. Though I didn't always lift weights after 1995, I could always count on being fit and muscular. Unfortunately, after 2004, I became too busy, lost my motivation, and let myself go. Last year, I was at my worst, reaching a flabby weight of 198 lbs. While attempting to whip myself back into shape last Fall, I tore my pectoral. Since January, I've been allowing myself to heal, by working my way back very slowly. Right now, I'm weighing 191 lbs. But I'm learning patience and have humbled myself, by going back on a beginner's program. Little by little, there is change, though not as fast I want.
Why I Love It:
Relieves a lot of stress. Seeing results gives me a high, but it's not easy and it does take a certain amount of faith when getting started and not knowing what your results will be in the future.
How I Stay Motivated:
It's not easy for me. When I get results, I want to reward myself (via cheat meals), and then oooops! I've blown my diet! And suddenly one cheat meal turns into a cheat week!
BB Accomplishments:
None. I was just always known for being in shape and taking care of myself; but now I'm better known as the "has been"! We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Eventually, I would like to get back down to a body weight of 162 pounds. Five years ago, I was lean and muscular at 158 lbs. I had a 29-30 inch waist and could bench well over 300 lbs. Right now, I'm at my heaviest, 191 lbs, because I've let myself go since 2004. I'm no longer concerned about strength, though.
I am a Professional techinically trainerd dancer so yes salsa, cha-cha, ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern (Graham and Horton techinques)....all sorts of dances...even west and south african! Dancing is my passion before fitness even.
Not only can you regain the physique of your youth but you can even surpass it.
The proven 12-week Body for Life program was responsible for my wife (bodyspace: judimax) and I to achieve our fitness goals. Judimax went from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 and I lost over 50 lbs going from 36 to 10% bodyfat in only 12 short weeks by following the BFL program. Push yourself (possibly out of your comfort zone) and I believe the results will be well worth the effort. Let us know if you wish more info.
