When I Started:
May, 1998
How I Started:
I began working out when I started High School for sports. I never paid much attention to how I looked, but how I performed. I realized quickly that I had an apptitude for strength. Soon I was breaking school records on certain lifts; and weight training helped me excel in football and as a wrestler. College football ended abruptly when I injured my shoulder and required surgery. I worked hard to regain strength and became stronger than ever, but I put on quite a bit of fat with the muscle. Now I'm working on ridding myself of that fat and becoming better than ever before.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because it gives me a since of pride, accomplishment, and helps me to focus. I find that when I'm working out consistently I do better in all the other arenas of my life.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing results! Watching the number on the scale go down! Thinking about my future family and wanting to die young at a very old age. Defying my genetics. Being an example for my family.
Adversity is not a punishment, but rather a blessing; for it is through adversity that we become strong.
Goal (Long):
To weigh 300 pounds by December 31, 2008
Goals I'll acheive someday (Dreams):
*Weigh 250lbs or less
*Run 30 minutes "easily" without stopping
*Bench press over 400lbs
*Squat over 600lbs
*Perform at least 10 Pull-ups
*Increase my agility and flexibility
*To have 15% body fat or less
Well, I ordered the Rock Hard Challenge from Muscle and Fitness, and I'm starting it tomorrow! I plan on following it perfectly, but may take it easier on squats because of a knee injury I've recently gotten. I really want to make a difference with this program and FINISH IT! Here we go folks,...
I'm working with my trainer to make a new workout. It's going to center around the theme "300." Like the Spartans in that movie, once I begin I will never retreat and never surrender. My goal is to complete 300 reps in a workout, with 300 minutes of exercise overall during the week including...
I read your opening line about adversity! Keep doing what you're doing and you'll definately be happy with your results. You're already making progress from the pics...
wow. serious progress. I mean you actually looked a little smoother and stronger at 392, but that's just because the fat was filled out, heh ... you are I'm sure healthier now.
