Overall Goal: My short term goals would be to stay motivated. Other than that I want to lose .5% of bodyfat by summer, gain 10lbs of lean muscle & have an overall body that I am not ashamed of.

How I Started:
This is actually a pretty cool story. My wife and I have two kids, Kaitilin our daughter who is 11 and McKale our son who goes by "Bubba" who is 10. Pause for explanation. Makaitibubrn(pronounced Muh-cat-tee-bub-ren)is a combination of excerpts from the names of each member of the family; Mark (me), Kaitilin (daughter), McKale "Bubba" (son), & Brandie (my wife). Un-pause. Kaitilin was selling lemonade in front of the house. Over the course of her sales she met a man who asked my wife and I to be apart of a case study. The study was to show how muscle training can help with burning body-fat. I completed the study and went from 17.4% to 7.4%. From there I knew that I would regret not continuing. Anyhow all of this from the kids turning lemons into lemonade... and they made almost $100 from the sales, thanks kids.
Why I Love It:
How I Stay Motivated:
My wife and I have known each other from the age of 4. She has always looked great. We got married 12 years ago. Since day one she has taken fantastic care of her body. When you have a wife as beautiful as mine you want to look as good for her as she does for you. I read in a magazine the other day that a women covets a mans chest as much as we do theirs. Well I don't know about all of that... nope can't be true. But what if it is, I want my wife to see me as nice to look at. I'm a long way from where I want her to see me, but in the mean time I will use the sight of her to motivate the way I will work to improve the way she sees me.
BB Accomplishments:
Well I don't know how to handle this block. I have began taking a little bit better care of myself, that's the big accomplishment. I have had tremendous gratification in progressing. I don't know if I will ever compete so I can't say to stay tuned to see my trophies. But my wife, Brandie (username- Makaitibubrn) is now training for her first figure competition in June. Wish her luck!

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped or hurt your relationship?
My wife ,Brandie, and I really live in a lovesong. We met when we were 4yrs old and our families have known each other for generations. We celebrate our anniversary each year as the world celebrates the coming in of a new year. Last Dec.31st we made a dozen years together. 2008 was, in my opinion, our best year yet. I LOVE Brandie, everyone should know that. My wife ,Brandie, and I really live in a lovesong. We met when we were 4yrs old and our families have known each other for generations. What are your personal NON-FITNESS life goals?
Currently my wife, Brandie and I have been taking dance lessons. Chacha, Waltz, Nightclub two-step, Country two-step, Rumba soforth and so on. I would like to someday be at at least a performance level of dance if not a competition level.Currently my wife, Brandie and I have been taking dance lessons. Are you a parent?
Yes
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you to be a better parent?
I can swing the belt a little harder when the kids get out of line. Just kidding. My wife Brandie has always worked out in some fashion or another, ate right and has taken care of her body. I on the other hand did little to improve my physical body. Telling my kids to take care of their belongings was hard for me to be serious about when I wasn't taking care of myself. I can look them in both eyes and say do as I do. If you don't take care of yourself you won't be trusted to take care of other resposibilities.I can swing the belt a little harder when the kids get out of line. Just kidding. After 5 weeks, I can honestly say that being consistent with diet and exercise is what's working. I haven't missed a workout and haven't cheated that badly in 5 weeks. Good luck!
Mark, I saw your photo at 6'4% bf and I have to congratulate you. But I have to be honest. See, I saw your lovely wife's photo, too, and I hope you have a whole lot more than 6% bf and those baby blues to offer cuz she's a "babe". With all due respect... DAMN!
