When I made the decision to run collegiate cross country and track I decided to take my training up a notch. I used weights to supplement my running and cross-trining workouts and it has definitely paid off.
Why I Love It:
I love seeing just how far I can make myself go. There is nothing that can compare to the feeling after a hard workout where you KNOW you pushed yourself to the max. Also to watch the changes my body goes through. To make changes in workout routines to see different results and achieve different goals makes it fun and almost like a game, "Let's see what I can do."
How I Stay Motivated:
The thrill of beating my own personal best and knowing that I am responsible for the athlete I am to become is the ultimate motivator. While my sports are individual there is also a team aspect to them and if I don't do my part I lose points for my team. Also, knowing the runner I was and the one I've become are two different people and I always like to keep becoming.
BB Accomplishments:
No bodybuilding ones yet. Maybe down the road once I'm done with running. After college my goal is to do triathlons and marathons. However, in cross counry, I am a 3 time All-Conference runner and was All-Conference (2006)for outdoor track in the 400m relay and the 5k.

This was taken before I began running in college. This was during the 2002 Chicago Marathon where I was my heaviest at 125 pounds and 20% BF.
So, you're going to train for triathlons / marathons? Awesome! What distance triathlons are you thinking of? There's an Ironman almost every month in the summer, ya know?! :)
