When I Started:
Jun, 2007
How I Started:
I looked at my before picture. Looked at it a second time. A tear. Really though, I looked at that picture and stopped frontin. I have been procrastinating the healthy lifestyle for a few years now and I can't front no more. That $%!& looks disgusting. That's right, I said it.....
Why I Love It:
Living a healthly lifestyle is something you can choose to do throughout life. Exercise and fitness doesn't have to stop at a certain age. And it's quite possible that being healthy in your later years will help you live longer.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing results. No better motivator than results. And also having complete stangers compliment me on my results. Ever seen a black man blush? I'm a sucker for flattery.
BB Accomplishments:
NASA Powersports novice division 1st place.
Deadlift PR 375#

Believe it or not, I think I was trying to flex something when I took this one.
This ones a whole lot better than the first side shot. You can tell I was trying really hard to suck in my gut on the first one.
190 pounds, 15% bodyfat, 161.5 Lbm, 36.5" waist. Shoulder & back development. Gut removal.
Goal (Long):
I want to lose to excess weight i've been carrying for the last couple of years. I have arthritis in my left hip and that gave me an excuse for many years to not be on top of my cardio.
I want to hit these numbers and maintain them...
Weight 185, Bodyfat 12%, Lean body mass 163lbm, 35" waist, 16.5" arms. Hopefully this will be a reality by the end of the year.
I want to compete in powerlifting meets in that body and accomplish 300#'s bench, 400#'s deadlift. I was able to hit 280 on the bench but that was when I was 12 pounds heavier. Im trying to be more descriptive in my goals.
What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
Ron Jeremy. I really don't know how he does it, but he does it. And for some strange reason, it works! Okay, maybe Tyrese or something.

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
Use magazines, friends, bodyspace, or anything else that moves you. The worst thing you can do is try to stick to this lifestyle alone. There are way too many distractors out there looking to get you off the path. Everybody needs a little boost now and then.Use magazines, friends, bodyspace, or anything else that moves you. That's right, I said it. I had myself a little fun squatting today before coming to work. Now my hamstrings are hollerin at me. I'm thinking that it was a good thing I left out the lunges at this point. I'd probably be crying right now. Better not say nothing about crying. My...
I feel you on that dude. I went backwards too. Went to the in-laws' place, and gaine about 5 pounds. Moms don't be playin' with the cooking. Anyway, what is you max on bench?
I took my "before" picture last week, I just keep forgetting to load it on the site. It is embarrassing though. Also my max bench sucks. I couldn't even do 225...also embarrassing. I got a plan to get it up though...pyramid sets...they usually work for me.
ha ha, man, things are going for me. I'm actually consistently training 3 times a week. Well, the length of a week varies for me, but I'm making progress. Trying to get there. Soon I'll be where I'm trying to get to.
So of course, my next question is when are you going to make yourself get it together. ;-)
Nah, I'm not going to give you a hardtime. I understand work schedules being hectic and you having to take time off to deal with that and the other gamuts life throws at you. All I can say is deal until you figure something out or you find an opening. Good luck regardless though. You'll get better.
Man, if I'm putting anyone to shame at the end of the year, I'll be complete surprised. Maybe end of January but with all of that eating in between ... I doubt it very seriously.
Other than that, things are going great. I haven't measured my BF or done any max efforts recently so I have no idea. You'll have some progress, count on that. And even if you don't see it, it'll probably still put me to shame. ;-) I'm such a slacker though.
Thanks for the support, good luck on your goals also, at the moment im only managing around 120 grams of protein although im also eating lots of fruit and vegetables.
