Background

HOW I STARTED:

I was a cheerleader for 5 years and a dancer for 18 years. To build stanima and muscle for cheerleading I started going to the gym with my mom at age 13. I found myself in the middle of an eating disorder at age 15. It wasnt until last year that I discovered the world and ladies of figure and I felt that it was what I needed to do. So, this is my start to getting lean and strong.

WHY I LOVE IT:

Because I love the rush of pushing myself harder, running that extra mile, lifting heavier than I did last week. To stay healthy for myself and my family.

I'm in the beginnings of training to compete figure in Summer/Fall 09' with JPhillips. Training is changed up every week.
Weights 5 days a week, sprints the other 2 days.

I want to compete some time in the spring/summer. I am working with Jason Phillips to get myself in competition shape!
Lots of ways...I have the best training partner-my husband, he keeps me going! I think of my mom and how proud she would be of me. MUSIC, fitness magazines, seeing all the tranformations on BB.com!

10K and sprint tri

I went to the figure comp. and loved it!  but I think that I am going to have to wait until next competition season..... so I am now training for a 10K in two weeks and a sprint tri in 4 weeks.  I super pumped!!

So this Saturday I am going to my first figure competition!  I know it sounds silly, but I have been wanting to get to one for the past year and havent been able to find one to attend.  There is one right around the corner from my house!!  I am hoping that this will really get me motivated to compete.  I want to compete, but am intimidated by what to expect....so now I will have some idea what actually happens at competitions and what will be expected of myself. Plus,  I might recognize some competitors from my gym that I can harass afterwards ;) An...

Hi everyone, thank you so much for your well wishes.  I am a week PO and feeling pretty good.  I will probably be back in the gym next week doing low impact cardio-maybe a little biking.  ANYTHING is better than sitting here on my couch, watching every movie I've ever purchased!!!  I know I am going to be a bit softer than I was before, but that is all the motivation I need to work harder to get back to where I was and surpass it!!  Thanks again.
