When I Started:
Feb, 2006
How I Started:
I needed to lose weight, started working out at home then Hubby bought me a gym membership and i have been hooked ever since.
Why I Love It:
I KNOW 1st hand now what working out can do for ones mind and body. I started out at 220lbs,41% BF and a size 18. Now i am 140,19%BF and size 4, and hoping to still be going down.
Update: I am now 131 size 2 and getting Body fat tested today!!!! body fat was tested and according to that I am 14.3%, so I am happy! It's only a number but I just wanted to make sure its still dropping!
Update: still 1lbs away from losing 95lbs, weight 126lbs size 2 (sometimes 0) and body fat tested this AM at 9.1%, again not to into the # but just making sure its going down.
Weight and Body fat are up a tad, but I am happy. I hit my goal of 95lbs gone but like the "fuller" look on me so I am up just a few lbs and 2% in Body fat. Like this much better!
July 2009 update:This was a tough year for me mentally and physically. I Signed on with a fantastic trainer (jpfit) for a few months who got my body to where I didn't think possible..I was on my way to the stage and couldn't hang so i backed out. I was tired, my muscles were cramping and I mentally as a former big girl didn't picture myself as even close to stage ready, but looking back now..I was crazy to think that! I learned a lesson through that though..To never compare yourself to others! Be the best you! Not self doubt because someone is progressing faster or has better arm definition! Rock out who you are!!!
I stoped my training w/JP and proceded to try every thing out there as far as workouts or eating plans and all I did is make myself sick! Killed it with weights, cardio and teaching my classes and never listened to my body, until I was so sick and in Johns hopkins for 4 days.. I became hypoglycemic, didn't know and just kept pushing my body which in turn pushed back and flared my Celiac disease, so whatever my food intake was my body didn't absorb any of the nutrients..I was a mess! After a few weeks of feeling sorry for myself, i got back at it and with the help of JPFit I got back on track the healthy way...I learned my lesson and am going it alone now as I have to learn for myself.(many thanks to JPFIT for such an amazing job! He knows his stuff!!!) I am starting back at leaning down now from a healthy 144lbs, its hard mentally to know that I weight that, but Im still a size 4 and better yet Im happy! Yes, I have to start leaning out cause I wan't to show this hard earned muscle off, but I have my eye on a contest date in the future so until I have to start prep for my contest prep...lol! I am just going to be happy and healthy! And this time as long as my body lets me, I WILL MAKE THE STAGE!!!
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing my body change, and knowing that it's me that's making that happen!!!!
I love the saying..."nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!" Sometimes I have to disagree though, cause Peanut M&M's taste pretty darn good!!!!!

Because she did it! She set her sights on what she wanted and she acheived it. Better yet, she motivates others by sharing her story and is proof that it can be done.
Im here with just 3 more weeks till my first figure comp. And I am soooo excited! And Sooooo nervous! Im scared Im not "lean" enough, im scared Im gonna cramp on stage and Im scared im gonna be sick to my stomach from nerves..... But Im so excited...
I know, you just look awesome. You should be very proud! I can tell you have worked your tail off. :) Not much new here...just got back from a week and a half in Greece. It was amazing, but happy to be home.
Thank you! I'm excited to see how you do also! The show was pretty big, I was in D class and we have 5 competitors. the 1st and 2nd girls had already qualed for nationals so coming in 3rd behind them doesn't make me feel too bad...lol I got a lot of good feedback from the comp and crowd. Had a blast tho for sure. Good luck with your peak week and remember to have fun at the show, with a 100lbs lost you've already won!!
Congratulations on losing 100lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ROCK :)))))
BTW you're looking great, and your posing is much improved- I can tell you've been practicing :)
Not only a compliment, but the truth!! If you have any advice ill gladly take it!! I'm currently working with a trainer but this will be my last month, financial snag, so im hoping i can continue to do it on my own. GREAT JOB THOUGH!!
I would up it. I have competed 3 times, 3 coaches, and all had me on atleast 2.5 for M-W. Sounds like you have to tan covered. Just don't use DO. It reacts to your bodies PH level and may turn you green.. I have thumbs up for ya!
Hey lady.. I did 2-5 gallons M-W, 1.5 gallons on Thursday, and .5 gallons on Friday. I started carbing up Thursday. Everyone responds differently but I would def. increase you water than what she has you on. I drink more than that too on a dily basis. Do you have your tan and make-up yet?
I would def. take in more than 1 gallon the first 4 days. I would do no less than 2-2.5 gallons. I will check my prep and see what I did. You water load and carb deplete the first 3-4 days. Then you slowly taper your water, and increase your carbs. The carbs act like a sponge and pull all the water into your muscles(fills you out) giving you that dry tight look.
