How I Started:
Literally forced to workout by a co-worker. I suggested one day to some other Navy Officers in my flight squadron that I needed to start working out (I was 35 at the time) and the next day I was carried by two other officers to the nearest gym and began working out....almost 16 years later I am still going.
Why I Love It:
It gets me so motivated and energized to do other daily activities....I feel positive after a great workout....I hope by being on this website it will inspire me to step up my program even more.
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking at Out-of-Shape People! I see them and tell myself "you will not be like them!"

Maintain strength and flexibility for crew (8-Man) and volleyball competition.
Goal (Long):
I have reached my 50s and I am still competing in two sports - crew (rowing) and volleyball. I want to maintain the strength to allow me to compete with those much younger than I. I also compete in various indoor volleyball leagues and beach volleyball tournaments. I need to maintain agility and strength in order to maximize my competitive edge. Rowing season begins again in March 2008. Volleyball is an ongoing sport - very little downtime.
