My story is similar to many. When I was young I looked up to 3 people, Arnold, Sylvester and Jean Claude. These three possessed what I felt was the ideal physique for a man.
They provided the motivation, the rest has been trial and error and a lot of learning through books and great people.
Why I Love It:
I love the strength and confidence that comes with bodybuilding. In order to achieve great results you must apply great discipline.
You get what you put it. Be intense, be dedicated and go heavy or go home.
How I Stay Motivated:
My motivation comes from within. In our minds eye, we all have a specific mental image of ourselves we would like to see in the mirror. The closer the image in the mirror comes to matching the one in my minds eye, the greater the motivation.

After coming back after a 5 year period. I needed to loose the fat, regain my strength and definition and get my head in the game. Now that I have done that, my long term goal is to weigh 200 lbs at 7% body fat.

When I was cutting my favorite treat was a little Scivation creation called "Sludge". You combine one or two scoops of chocolate whey protein with two tbsp of peanut butter and add a little water or skim milk as you stir it together. You don't want too much liquid so it retains its "sludge" consistency. I got to watch some of those Peek Pyramid videos. Of course the dudes in the video make me feel like a pipsqueak ;-] But the technique looked interesting.
So the point is that you start out with lighter weights and get a burn, then you increase weight aggressively while letting yourself do less weight. Do you think that pre-burns the muscle so that it has to work harder? It's opposite of what I normally do. Think I'll give it a shot.

1 lb. per week sounds like a perfect rate of weight gain. Nice job! Being lean is a lot of fun... But I have to admit I am loving the increase in strength and fullness as the calories are going up. Do you feel your BF% increased much?
Like you I am bulking right now with Derek's help! It is my first "official" bulk and I am interested to see what I can accomplish! I love being cut and lean in the summer but it is time for MASS! How has it been going for you? Best luck of to you and happy training!

Great bro! - Im with Team Scivation also, but Derek is all good with me rocking out Max-OT for a while. I've printed off the 6 month plan from ast, so im going to finish that. 4 weeks with t scivation, and we just found my maintenance calories at 3100! did it take you a while?
