Background

When I Started: Jul 2009
HOW I STARTED:

I have was introduced to the gym at age 15 because I was a chubby teen but I am now starting a new program with Shawnee Harkins to take control of my fitness and reach a new level.

WHY I LOVE IT:

I love the spring in my step, the high energy and the feeling of health and vitality that comes with regular working out.

No Pain, No Gain

Well, i have really been feeling run down from these workouts. I know it is what I have to do but, whew, I am tired! I am trying to keep it in perspective and not let it get in my way. I do have glimmers of the benefits though. I am feeling a bit stronger and I don't get winded as quickly.  The massage was a good idea. With all the hard work and pain, I really needed to be good to those muscles too.

Well I was feeling that workout for daaaays. These workouts are definitely a lot more intense that what I do on my own. I guess that is why I wasn't losing any weight.  It exhausting though.

Well, here I go. I was actually surprised that after a year and a half of not smoking, the fitness assessment was so hard on my lungs. I felt them burning for about half an hour. The next couple of days I was ridiculously sore too, I couldn't really do any working out. All I could do was stretch them. The hope is that my muscles will be stronger for it and I will have more endurance after each workout.
