When I Started:
Sep, 2008
How I Started:
I got started training to overcome my addictions. The strongest one and still the one I battle today is food. But I am trying to learn that I control what I eat, it doesn't control me. I am setting my start date for today because today is the day that I take control back of my life.
Why I Love It:
It allows me to prove to myself that I can accomplish what I set my mind to. The training for me is fun, the diet and the mental aspect are not. Those will be the key areas of focus for me.
How I Stay Motivated:
Reading Marc Lobliners thread is a huge motivational tool for me. Marc is managing a business, family, life and still gets it done in the gym. I also would like to someday be featured in the over 40 Transformations her on bodybuilding.com.
BB Accomplishments:
None, but stay tuned

Transform from fat and out of shape to fit. Lose 75 pounds of bodyfat, and regain my life.
Goal (Long):
Since I overcame my chemical addictions I have battled an addiction with food. I am now at a point where it is put up or shut up. I don't want to live another day in the shape I am in. I have the knowledge to do what needs to be done, now it is time to apply it. I want to reduce my bodyfat to a healthy level of 12-15%, reduce my overall weight to under 230 pounds, be lean and muscular and be able to enjoy life, not just get through it. My goals will be achieved by July 8th, 2010, my 50th birthday.
My training program is courtesy of Derek Charlebois and Team Scivation. Each bodypart is trained once a week and I am using mostly dumbbells in the beginning as I recover from shoulder surgery. Cardio is done for 30 minutes postworkout 4 times a week at a low intensity and then 2 days of HIIT...
If you would like to make your fitness goals or dreams come true in the next 12 weeks I recommend you look into the Body for Life program. My wife (bodyspace: judimax) went from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 and I lost over 50 Lbs and went from 36 to 10% bodyfat in just 12 weeks by following the BFL program. It is not super easy nor is it so hard that you won’t be able to achieve your goals. We were amazed at the results and you may be too. Let us know if you would like more info.
Hi! Thanks for the happy wishes! I may do a show late this fall or early spring next year. I know there is never going to be a perfect time to do a show, so I am trying to stay true to myself and continuing to make progress and see what happens.
