When I Started:
Feb, 2007
How I Started:
I wanted to gain some muscle for being in the Army, being a smaller guy (around 170) when I got out of training, I wanted to bulk up so I could play Rugby. I am now 252 lbs. at around 19% BMI looking to trim fat and build a bigger upper body.
Why I Love It:
I like the feeling of being in shape. I like being able to walk up four flights of stairs before I get winded. I used to be in really bad shape, and I enjoy what I have made of myself, and I look forward to what I can still become.
How I Stay Motivated:
Every morning, I have to tell myself, "Lift big, gain big"
BB Accomplishments:
Gained over 70lbs (mostly muscle) and increased my 1RM dead-lift from 190 to 365
My weight kinda shot up, but I oly gained 2% bodyfat, so I'm not too worried as far as cutting is concerned. I've cut for wrestling before, so this won't be too hard for me. I am now where I am starting to increase the cardio to as much as 4x a week.
I want to be a better rugby player with a higher level of fitness.
Goal (Long):
I plan on increasing my cardio to get rid of the fat, but I also want to up the ante on the weights. I would like to go back to a professional gym, not just use my rack at home. I want to add a lot more size to my biceps and triceps, as well as my lats and shoulders. My forearms could stand to be bigger as well. Being a rugby player, my legs are already pretty strong (not perfect, but they need less work than the rest of me).
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 20 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
7%

Well, I have hit my target weight, but I still want more muscle. I would like to maintain this weight, but shift the fat/muscle ratio. I have started to run and bike more often, but I am also losing it slowly, as I still have more muscle to build. I can also feel the thyroid regulators/ fat...
If you really want to lose weight and/or get into great shape I believe it is best to follow a proven program such as Body for Life. I lost over 50 lb’s and went from 36 to 10% bodyfat and my wife (bodyspace: judimax) went from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 in only 12 weeks by following the Body for Life program. Push yourself, possibly out of your comfort zone and you may be amazed at the results and how fast they happen. It will be well worth the effort.
