My Workout Philosophy View My Full Workout Program

I believe in lifting heavy with rep ranges between 10-15. Cardio is usually done with HIIT style training or with some type of resistance

My reps are typically kept in the 10-15 rep range. The only time I let my rep range drop below 10 is when I'm trying to build up strength. My second off-season  I needed to increase my overall muscle mass so I started increasing the weight I lifted and dropped my rep range to 6-8 reps until I could lift the same weight for 12 reps. Doing that style training for a solid 8 month off season greatly increased my strength and muscle mass.

I don't believe in "girl workouts" ... You know where you never stop moving and lift the sissy weights for 25 reps and then go straight to plyos for 30 minutes. I'm sorry but that's just not the way I train, and that sounds miserable to me anyways lol. I like to stick to old school compound exercises and the tried and true exercises. Dead lifts, Squats, Shoulder Press, Bench Press, Bentover Rows etc.

For this years prep I eat the same thing everyday, no exceptions. I eat every 3 hours and it's very low carb and low fat.

6AM: 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 cup liquid eg whites

9AM: 3oz deli turkey, 1 apple

12PM: 4 oz chicken, 3/4 cup green beans, 4 oz sweet potato

3PM: 4 oz turkey, 3/4 cup asparagus, 2 rice cakes

6PM: 1 cup liquid egg whites, bowl of lettuce, and handful of spinach

9PM: 1 cup of liquid egg whites and bowl of lettuce

 

...and lots of water!

Since I'm in season prepping for Team Universe I stay away from most pre workouts due to the creatine and carbs.

Pre weight training I drink either a Peach Mango Speed Stack or a Princess Redline. Before my cardio session I'll take a Spirodex by Gaspari, they put me in a good mood and give energy to get through the cardio. I also take a multi vitamin, iron, ALA, Green with hoodia, vitamin D, Vita C, liver support, Vita E, Melatonin at nightime, glutamine, and Panthonic.

I'll usually do an i-pod makeover! I'll take all my playlist and put new funky music in them so I can get through boring morning cardio (Yawn!).
I also look up pics of the recent figure competitions and remind myself what I'm working towards.
