When I Started:
2006
How I Started:
A friend in college took me to the gym with him one day. He got me hooked on exercising, I didn't really start getting into weight lifting until September to October of 2008.
Why I Love It:
I love lifting because it gives me focus in my life. No matter how crazy or stressful my life is outside of the gym, its still the same inside. It relieves stress, and clears my mind.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by seeing improvement and feeling improvement in my body. My wife encourages me, she is my best friend, and I love her for being that, and I stay healthy for my daughter. Music helps me stay focused and motivated while lifting.
BB Accomplishments:
I used to weigh 240 lbs, and was overweight all through middle school and high school. Losing down to 170 lbs was my biggest accomplishment. However, I had gotten so skinny in such a short time that I looked unhealthy. I started lifting, and filled out a bit. Gained up to 185. I let myself go later in college a bit, and gained fat back to 210. I have started to get back in shape. Now I need to tone, and build mass, so hopefully I will have a bigger accomplishment later.

cultivate happy friendly feelings for your clean snack, tell it you love it, tell your brain its the best, tell your tummy its a cheeseburger in disguise....this works I swear!
I bite their heads off...I forgot, the giraffe is the best (easiest to bite the off of duh!) take almonds to work and an apple, does the trick for me (usually :o)
Hey Matt, Congratulations for accomplishing a helluva lot already. Your incredible weightloss and fitness seems to be just the beginning. You've apparently earned your degree, your CPA, become a husband and a father, and found time to build a new home. at only 22 ys old, you have had an incredible year or two. Keep it up. Both your girls are beautiful.

Man it is hard to decide between cardio and weight lifting. I am training for a half marathon, but the weights are my first love. Have been seeing tremendous strength gains. Hopefully can start getting rid of some fat. What do you do for the cutting cycle?
