When I Started:
Oct, 2006
How I Started:
I wanted to lose fat after having two babies.
Why I Love It:
I want to look great, which is my most motivating factor, but I choose to work really hard and spend a lot time at it because, more importantly, the bodybuilding lifestyle is an investment in my own health and in feeling great on a daily basis.
How I Stay Motivated:
Lurking on Bodyspace for the past eight months or so, and seeing the amazing progress so many people have made really inspires me to work hard!!!! It's a huge motivating factor just knowing that it can be done. Frequently checking in on other peoples' progress and achievements also helps me remain focused on my own goals and reminds me why am I working so hard all day, every day. Hopefully now that I have posted pictures, I can actually help someone else out now!
Of course, the most endlessly motivating factor for me is my desire for growing and improving in all areas of my life, including my body. The idea of getting better as I age really excites me!
BB Accomplishments:
About 35 lbs. of fat loss and 10 lbs. of muscle gain over the past eighteen months.

About 145 lbs., after two babies in two years and before any fat loss, training, and control of my diet. I was NOT pregnant in this picture (second baby was 9 months old) but people kept asking me if I was. This was actually a huge motivating factor for me.
I can FINALLY see some muscle on the back of my legs! (when lifting)
My long term fitness goal is to improve my physique by losing fat, gaining muscle, increasing flexibility, and improving my posture. I want to accomplish all of this with careful eating and one intense, short daily workout, so that I can still have plenty of time to pursue my other life goals as well.
SmartAssard's blog is one that I check in on often. I always know that when I am working hard, she is too. Her great photos remind me that lots of muscle looks great on women, and that I can work hard, and build muscle, and know that in the end I will not only feel, but look better. Sometimes as I see my body changing, it is scary seeing all that muscle begin to emerge--but when I see it in pics of other muscular women who look feminine, I know that I am not going too far!
I am inspired by reading her great blog, by her great attitude, and by her amazing transformation. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and the fact that she has shared her hard work has helped me challenge myself.
Thank you for your wonderful words and especially in recognizing that my wife is such an enormous part of my transformation. She deserves so much credit and i enjoy it so much when people like yourself notice it.
I look forward to watching your continuing progression and wish for you only the best.
Thank you Lisa! I am trying! I can smell that bread from here...nothing like warm homemade bread! :) What are the little angels going to be for Halloween or are you on the road?
I just stopped by to say that you are fantastic and to wish you nothing but success as you continue to work towards your fitness goal. You are truly dedicated and with your exercise routine as well as nutrition program I know you will achieve your fitness goal/dream. I look forward to watching your progress. Stay strong, focused and determined.
Since I am trying to loose weight at this point, I resist posting if it has gone up.
I suppose that day to day fluctuations are really meaningless anyway.
