Overall Goal: I want to get really fit and toned... trying for a body like a figure athlete. Want to feel healthy and strong.
Fit Status:
My mom died and I've been eating out of control :(
Motivation Level: 9/10
Personal Info And Background:
Real Name:
Linda
Sex:
Female
Age:
44
Location:
Portland, Oregon, United States
Occupation:
Mom of 6 Blessings
Personal Website:
Primary Gym:
College:
High School:
When I Started:
Sep, 2005
How I Started:
I still weighed over 200 pounds after giving birth to my 6th baby. I searched the internet for advice and learned that I had to weight train to make a real difference, that dieting alone would mess up my metabolism and then I would be in a worse mess. I found a home gym (Weider Pro) for $50 on Craigslist.com and started working out every day.
Why I Love It:
I love having control over how my body looks. Even though I sometimes get lazy, I can always step it back up when I start losing ground. Now I'm ready to get serious again.
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking at photos of great fitness models like Monica Brandt.
BB Accomplishments:
I've lost and kept off almost 60 pounds and my dress size has continued to go down. Now I want to get hard.
She has 6 children just like I do and yet she looks amazing... she makes me think that maybe, just maybe, I could accomplish even half of what she has!
Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
Yes
Why or why not?
I have very supportive friends and family. They never pick on me if I am going in reverse for a short period. I guess they know I'm more motivated than they are in general :)

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
I often speak of Jack LaLanne and how I want to age like he has. I watch my mom and how at age 77 she is more like a 90+ year old...she wouldn't exercise. I stress how important it is to stay fit so that you have independence and a flexible, strong body that is less prone to injury well into your December years.I often speak of Jack LaLanne and how I want to age like he has. What is your favorite "healthy" dessert? Give the recipe if applicable.
It was my pleasure to drop by and offer a bit of encouragement. I believe that we all can use a little positive recognition every once in a while. If there is ever anything that I can do to be of assistance please feel free to give me a yell.

Awesome, working for Playboy.
Stay determined and consistent; you'll meet your goal.
BTW, the Northwest is a beautiful place the live. I found Mt Hood Timberview Lodge very cool.
I dropped by to say I believe that you are really on your way and with your continued determination you will achieve and possibly even surpass your goal. I look forward to watching your progress and would like nothing better than to see you achieve all you dream of on your fitness journey.
Remember: "If you will not settle for anything less than your best, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish in your life."
So you have a, "Dang it” for a fit status? I am guessing that is the voicing of determination to keep on moving forward! But you are doing some great work. Not just getting lean but building muscle as well.
