When I Started:
Sep, 2005
How I Started:
I still weighed over 200 pounds after giving birth to my 6th baby. I searched the internet for advice and learned that I had to weight train to make a real difference, that dieting alone would mess up my metabolism and then I would be in a worse mess. I found a home gym (Weider Pro) for $50 on Craigslist.com and started working out every day.
Why I Love It:
I love having control over how my body looks. Even though I sometimes get lazy, I can always step it back up when I start losing ground. Now I'm ready to get serious again.
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking at photos of great fitness models like Monica Brandt.
BB Accomplishments:
I've lost and kept off almost 60 pounds and my dress size has continued to go down. Now I want to get hard.
Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
Yes
Why or why not?
I have very supportive friends and family. They never pick on me if I am going in reverse for a short period. I guess they know I'm more motivated than they are in general :)

I often speak of Jack LaLanne and how I want to age like he has. I watch my mom and how at age 77 she is more like a 90+ year old...she wouldn't exercise. I stress how important it is to stay fit so that you have independence and a flexible, strong body that is less prone to injury well into your December years.I often speak of Jack LaLanne and how I want to age like he has.
