"I've lost about 60 lbs with weight training and now I want to really tone up."

When I Started:
Sep, 2005
How I Started:
I still weighed over 200 pounds after giving birth to my 6th baby. I searched the internet for advice and learned that I had to weight train to make a real difference, that dieting alone would mess up my metabolism and then I would be in a worse mess. I found a home gym (Weider Pro) for $50 on Craigslist.com and started working out every day.
Why I Love It:
I love having control over how my body looks. Even though I sometimes get lazy, I can always step it back up when I start losing ground. Now I'm ready to get serious again.
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking at photos of great fitness models like Monica Brandt.
BB Accomplishments:
I've lost and kept off almost 60 pounds and my dress size has continued to go down. Now I want to get hard.

I was over 200 lbs. after giving birth to baby number 6. I knew I had to make a big change.
It is always good to be reminded just how far I need to go...these pictures help me do that.
Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
Yes
Why or why not?
I have very supportive friends and family. They never pick on me if I am going in reverse for a short period. I guess they know I'm more motivated than they are in general :)

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
I often speak of Jack LaLanne and how I want to age like he has. I watch my mom and how at age 77 she is more like a 90+ year old...she wouldn't exercise. I stress how important it is to stay fit so that you have independence and a flexible, strong body that is less prone to injury well into your December years.I often speak of Jack LaLanne and how I want to age like he has. What is your favorite "healthy" dessert? Give the recipe if applicable.
I look at the profiles and pictures of these amazing women on BodySpace that have done what I am trying to do. They are around my age, have had children, and they have this amazing body with feminine muscles, curves and angles everywhere. I have lost around 60 pounds...have 15 to go but I...
That figures! lol... Wow u look amazing for having six kids!
I just had my first and gained 45 lbs during the 9 months... hence why i am here to get some help with motivation to lose it!! Damn sympathy weight! lol
Weight training is still the way to go. Nothing creates a better body than implementing intense muscle shaping systems while incorporating purposeful supersetting. In the end you gotta lift great to look great.
Had a great ego day yesturday. When to SIX FLAG did not where a shirt in the water park. In the past I would where one to cover up but not this time. I had a little tan NO man BOOBS no gut and some muscle to show. That was a great ego boost. I also tooking in 2 protein bars so I would not have to eat fried food all day, yes i know alittle weird but all this hard work and to eat fried food and feel like shit the next day. I don't think so
Hey Lin, hope you are getting my comments. Haven't heard from you in awhile - you are probably busy! Hope all is well; have a great weekend. Hope to talk to you soon! :)
