Background

When I Started: Jan 2007
HOW I STARTED:

I've always been interested in training for something: running races, triathalons & marathons. The tranisition to physique competition was just the next step.

WHY I LOVE IT:

It feels great to accomplish something each time- more reps or more weight from the last workout.

Recovery

It's been 5wks since I fell and cracked my tailbone.  5wks of a few arm workouts and whimpy cardio.  Each time I would go to the gym-my back muscles would spasm and tell me NO MORE!  So I began getting massages and using heat to relax my back muscles so I could function.  It has been a long recovery, but the heat helps tremendously.  At the 4 wk mark I realized I was going to be able to workout again soon.  So I began lifting a little heavier, finally able to do some form of a squat, but no lunges yet.  This will start a new week, I will see what I can accomp...

Hitting 113 pretty steadily on the scales.  & I don't like the look.  I don't mind the # so much, but I look much softer than I like.  I've been restricted to light weight and high reps for the past 6 wks per my chiropractor.  I am back together now so I'm clear to start adding more weight in small increments!  WoooHOOO!  I didn't change my cardio routine.  The only change to my diet was -too many business trips.  And I admittedly let myself cheat WAY TOO MUCH the last trip.  Pizza, cinnamon roll, pineapple upside down cake, icecream(no sugar)-w...

Surf_Sun_Sand Hi Girly...what a great photo! Hope you have had a good summer and that your off season is going well and as planned. I am still at it, of course. Taking lots of road trips so the food has been somewhat challenging but I just keep the cooler full. I'm trying put on more muscle and still stay pretty lean. It has been challenging! Surf_Sun_Sand Hey Leslie...now worries...I don't log in everyday lately as life is pretty busy these days...so I appreciate catching up with you regularly when we can. I think the Bev GH has helped with my strength...not so much with bodyfat..but it's still early and I am taking just one 3x a day. I may try upping the dose. I will read up more on the multi-carn..I've tried the 2 types..regular and fumarate..so need to do a little research there. Thanks so much for your feedback. Jun 30, 2009 1:52pm

WillyB83 I haven't selected a show yet..... I sort of gassed out a little. Maybe I'll pick one here in a little bit if I see my legs start to grow. Obviously, I can't come in looking like a Joe or a Jason my first show BUT I don't want to look like a slacker either. Surf_Sun_Sand Hope you treated yourself to a couple of good meals and a good massage!! Hey.. I bought the GH Factor. How did you take it. Right now I am doing one 30 min before breakfast and dinner and one before working out. Did you take the recommended 2 before each? More importantly, do you think it benefited strength or fat loss? Surf_Sun_Sand I haven't been bitten by the stage bug...maybe in the future but I would love to bodybuild if I did. I am a long way from there at this point!! I am still working hard at this and using Jason's diet too after signing up last year to do a complete 16 week program with him. I have so much more to go.
