When I Started:
Jan, 2003
How I Started:
I played basketball in high school but I didn't really work out for it.I may have done some calf raises, squats and a little bench press but nothing serious. So I really got started working out at college because of two things my major and it was not a big city so there wasn't much to do. But more importantly my major was Information Technology/Computer and I needed something to before I went insane. So I went in the gym lifted some weights, got on a few bikes and realized I felt better which created my passion for working out.But after I graduated there went the free gym membership and I didn't find the motivation to start working out at home soon enough. So between the holidays, family gatherings and fast food I went from a toned 250 to a 288lbs.
Why I Love It:
It helps relieve stress or keep my sanity. It allows me to let all my problems go while I am lifting or running I can just clear my mind.
How I Stay Motivated:
Remembering what I use to look like, seeing that first progress picture and by seeing peoples progress on bb.com.Also I am studying to be a certified personal trainer from the National Council on Strength & Fitness. Now being in the MuscleTech Transformation Contest!

This was taken in November 07, I had made progress but then Christmas came and I gained 6 lbs.
Get rid of this fat so I can reveal a six pack by the summer.
Goal (Long):
I entered the MuscleTech contest so I am trying to do the best that I can and also we are having a Biggest Loser Contest at work.I would like to But I would like to lose body fat and get lean also o get passed my usual sticking point of 250lbs to about 220-235lbs.In college no matter how much I worked out I never got passed 250 but now I determined, not only for my health but also as a personal achievement. Also to become a certified trainer from the NCSF.
How many meals is ok replace with protein shakes. Some how I am currently do not feel the urge to like I normally would.Lets say I ate 3 or 4 regular meals and 3 shakes. They are not just the shakes themselves,I use a sweet potato or scoop of reduced fat peanut butter if that helps.I don't want...
Just pace yourself its the best advise, If you go to fast to quick you'll burn out and never be able to run the distance. I pace, no rush, the biggest thrill is finishing the race and coming to the finish line.
Thanks for the compliments =)
My back routine can change up often. But my staple exercises for back are, heavy DB and BB rows, deadlifts both stiff-legged and conventional, T-bar rows, cable pulldowns and cable rows. And although not done on my back days, imo squats have contributed a lot to my overall back and shoulder development.
Three things are needed to reduce bodyfat.
A good diet – lift weights – do cardio.
If one of these three is out of whack it can and most likely will throw everything out of whack.
Eat 5 to 6 small high protein meals per day (2 to 3 can be protein shakes)
Lift weights for about 1 hour at least every other day
Do high intensity cardio 20- to 30 minutes per session every other day.
Thank you. Of course I do not mind. I am here to inspire and be inspired. I always tell my female clients I dare you to get big muscles. She can have both curves and female muscle. :) Juliet
Start doing chest and back on the same day. Pair 4 different back with 4 different chest exercises. you should lift about 70% of your max for 12 reps. Do not rest until the pair is done for a set. Rest is one minute. Same for bi/tri day. Then three shoulder ex superset and with weighted resisitance. Abs without weight on 3 other days. $100 please....lol
Not to be discouraging....but that's not good. You don't just want to loose weight..you want to gain some muscle mass as well which is definitely heavier than fat! Good luck! I'm a firm believer that you can do anything you put your mind to! Just stay focused on your goals!
What worked for me and allowed me to achieve my fitness dreams and lose over 50 lb’s, and go from 36 to 10% bodyfat in only 12 weeks was following the Body for Life program. It is not super easy nor is it so hard that you won’t be able to achieve your goals. I find that you get the best results by following a well-designed program and that is what I found with BFL. If you challenge yourself you will be amazed at the changes and how fast they happen.
