It was more of a "bet" (believe it or not) between a friend and me; needless to say, I won that bet hands down. My friend was always into the whole "gym" thing, which I knew nothing about and almost didn't really care. Jokingly, I asked him to start showing me the ropes and before you know it I was hooked. He didn't think I'd last a month! Long story short, here I am months later and loving every bit of the experience!
[Background...]
The above is just one element of my interest in fitness.
Sadly enough, I was never fortunate enough to pick up on a sport in my days as a youth, so I was far from the athletic type. Yet part of me always had that competitive edge about myself that I just couldn't break free from. This is where the whole subject of bodybuilding took on a whole new identity for me. Best of all, I want to show the world what this 2.1 lb pre-mature born kid could do!!! :-)
Why I Love It:
Bodybuilding is my "be all you can be," my stress reliever, my fourth dimension if you will. It allows me to channel all my energies into my work out and cast aside the troubles outside the gym. And besides, who can deny that it doesn't makes them look better in the process? <lol>
How I Stay Motivated:
Knowing that the grueling, muscle pumping action is sculpting a better me today than existed yesterday is motivation in itself. Plus the compliments are a nice icing on the cake.
BB Accomplishments:
Busting my you-know-what in the gym five days a week.
Forum Signature:
Not always is it [what] you lift so much as [how] you lift it. FORM, FORM, FORM!!!
If we live to learn, why not learn to live?
Gain at least 5lbs of muscle by year's end. What's up with the scale though? It's never consistent!!! Any advice anyone?
Goal (Long):
My longterm goal is to be able to bench 200lbs on flat bench successfully for 8-10 reps. This [will] take place by the end of the year (2009)! Guaranteed! Also, I'm striving for a lean and more cut mid-section. Let's do it!
Truly amazing total body transformation. This guy knows the meaning discipline--think twice about the foods we choose to put into our mouths. If he can do it, and he has, then we all can do it, and we will!
Small girls packs a big punch! Ava just rocks, plain and simple! Anyone who doesn't agree is either in complete denial or simply jealous. From the versatile looks captured in her images to her drive to continuously surpass her own feats, Ava is in a class of her own and stands a cut above the rest! Truly one of a kind. She is unstoppable! Much love and respect to you, Ava!
What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
I do not make mistakes. :-)

What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Take it one day at a time. Remember that you are what you eat! And between your diet and exercise alone, you will definitely get out what you put in. If you eat crap, have crappy work outs, then guess who's going to look and feel crap? That's right, you are!Take it one day at a time. Remember that you are what you eat! I don't know many people who don't dread cardio in some form or another. But I think I have finally found a way to make less tedious for me. The solution: instead of "every other day" cardio (interval treadmill sprints for me) for a total of 15 minutes, I think I'm going to...
Not always is it [what] you lift so much as [how] you lift it. FORM, FORM, FORM!!! If we live to learn, why not learn to live? (excellent) statement and keep up the good work.
