My Freshman year of college I walked into the weight room and was amazed at all of the equipment. So I started working out, doing the same thing everyday for 5 days a week until I learned different, which took about 3 months.
I moved from Northern Michigan to Oklahoma in the fall of 1992 (what a change). I didn't lift for 6-8 months because of the move and new job. That was longest that I have been off in the last 30 years.
Why I Love It:
I love the feeling, the competition with myself, the way it changes the body and it's a good stress reliever.
How I Stay Motivated:
Look in the mirror, I can always be better.

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.
Six and a half hours sleep, up @ 5:30,(yes Al I slept in), oats, protein and a slug of black coffee and out the door. The temp in the gym this morning was 67, I think because the outside temp was much warmer, in any case it was good. After a 3-4 minute warmup on the elliptical and a good amount...
Work is wearing me out and I'm swamped on other fronts as well. Rehab is crawling. I'm surprising myself with how well I follow directions. I guess an old dog can be taught new tricks. I'll be pretty hit and miss for the next few months, so keep working hard and doing what you do. Hope your boy is doing well. Don't tell him, but I'm a lifelong Nebraska fan. I still root for him when they play.
Thanks for stopping by my page and the BodyBlog! I had a much better workout today. Glad it's Friday, so that I can eat a little better and recover. How are things going with you?
Generally good. Just started week 1 of a modified routine that I did over the summer. From that my legs are still sore from yesterday and my arms feel like jello from today's workout... So, pretty good...
And to you Steve. My goal is to shoot for 1 cheat day on the w/e's. But now that I'm back on track, I'd sure like to jumpstart things by reporting to you on Monday that this was a no cheat w/e. Gladiator Warriors.
How's the diet? Clean eats for me yest. I did have some peanuts & pretzels when I got home from church choir practice, as I was starving. But no chips, sweets or junk. :-)
Hell yeah bro!! All stretch!! Hows the training going for you over there? Keeping it lean and mean? The soreness is setting in to feel good mode now, now lets see the weight go up!
I did it in 1996 on a school trip. Weather was great when we started out. 5 hours later when we reached the peak it was freezing, frosty, overcast, drizzling. The weather is really changeable so you have to pack both hot sunny and freezing cold gear. I was pretty annoyed to not see the view! I couldn't even see more than 5m in front of me. This time we're going in the middle of summer, so hopefully we'll get a view. But I am scared, so scared... it's going to hurt soo much.
yea bro. No problem on that checking in. You know im always keeping tabs on whats going on. That programs seems pretty awesome tho bro. Cant wait to see the results from it.

Hey Led, Good deal on keeping your mind oblivious to your surroundings, early AM, late PM , raining or hot, Your focus stays on your workout and progress. However, I am with you on that gym having some consideration for climate control..ha ha ha..ever been in a gym that has the radio set to slow jams! Ahh getting pummped up with Celin Dion!! Yuk..not this lifter..!!
