When I Started:
Aug, 2006
How I Started:
After looking at pictures of myself I couldn't believe that I had gotten so fat and decided to do something about it. In less than a year I lost 70lbs and have managed to keep it off and am now ready to sculpt my body and lose the last 15lbs.
Why I Love It:
It is my time. As a mother of 4 I don't get much of that and this is my time.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look at past pictures of the old me and remind myself of the hard work it took to get where I am. I also look at pictures of what I want to be.
Inside I felt like I had more to give but with all of the weight that I was carring I had just given up on myself. I couldn't keep up with life let alone my kids---so sad. I will never allow myself to get here again.
I took other photos but they look exactly like last weeks photos so I put a side one up for comparision as well. I have a lot of work to do in the next 12 weeks.

Goal (Long):
I have lost 70lbs but I haven't been able to lose the last 15lbs. I want to get back on a work out schedule that will work into my busy life. I want to be 135lbs with a reduced body fat. I will buy a caliper, eat clean, complete the 12 week body transformation. I think with the accountability of joining a body group, journaling and staying motivated I will acheive these goals.
You show that you can go from fat to fit and look good. Great job. When I get discouraged and think that I will never look fit I look at you and am re-motivated to just stick with it. Thanks

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you in your career?
For sure. After losing 60lbs I decided to become a personal trainer. I love what I do, motivating others to change their bodies and becoming confident and healthy.

Are you a parent?
Yes
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you to be a better parent?
I find that as I have become more confident I am instiling that confidence in them. Having 3 boys and one girl my boys are wanting to work on their bodies because they don't want to have a stronger momma. Unless I can lose 20lbs in 2 weeks I am going to miss my goal. I am having a hard time finding balance and time for myself to work out. I get up at 4:30 to get ready for my first client, run home take my oldest to school. Train clients again for 2 hours run home and school 3 of my kids,...
I am sorry to hear you are having a hard time. You know what helped me? I read through some of my blogs. When I was pumped, I was thrilled about working out and loved how I felt. II know it can be hard to remember times when you felt like a different "You" but, it is still inside. I promise, she is BEGGING to get back out!
Again, speaking from experinece. But you just have to tell yourself that YOU ARE WORTH IT and YOU ARE CAPABLE. Our minds are a battlefield. I hope you are feeling better soon. I am glad you put yourself ahead of doubt and hit the pavement. You are beatiful and a strong determined woman. Don't give up on yourself. PM me if you want to vent.
PS If you notice on my page...I say I AM WORTH IT! I have to remind myself sometimes too...
Lanie, you are not alone on that one. Many people have that looming self doubt, I being one of them. Suffering from self sabotage is a difficult thing to deal with.
Hey girlie...how are you? Havent seen u in the group..let me tell u everyone is making great progress..the motivation we give each other ROCKS!! You should chime in!! PROJECT HOT BODY!! WOOHOO!!
Hey dont feel bad for having a off day and having a emotional eating. The key is recognizing your behavior and fixing the problem. I do the same thing. You just gotta pick yourself up and get back in gear again.
Doing okay, I was in a car accident 2 weeks ago, and still sore. So it's making workouts a tad difficult. I don't look like the profile photo anymore (gained some jigglies), I have to update that, but thanks for the comment. I will get back to that shape and then some!
your doing so great girl, I see it, I know its hard for you.... I go through the same thing, lol. Most obvious is your mid section of course and your thighs are smaller and tighter looking. The rear view is really shaping up A LOT too!!! keep it up, whatever your doing is working, no question!!
