I have been in the Martial Arts from the time I was in preschool. Fitness was a part of the training. After entering the United States Air Force, I began working out seriously in 2000. After a change of station in 2002, I found that my new position didn't have the opportunity to maintain physical fitness as before. I soon found myself in a slovenly state. I've become angry with myself for not being in the shape I would like to be, or even used to be. The only alternative I saw was to begin a regimen of working out to increase my fitness level.
Why I Love It:
After having worked out with some degree of success I feel much better, although slightly tired. The feeling I get after a good workout is amazing.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look at myself in the mirror and curse the excess fat around my midsection and the lack of definition and want only to look better and feel better. Not to mention the added satisfaction of being healthy enough to be there for my family in the future.
BB Accomplishments:
I started the workout program in the October issue of Muscle and Fitness magazine at 210 lbs. I'm now 188 lbs and feeling much better.
I would like to drop to 185 lbs and continue to lose body fat % along the way.
Goal (Long):
I've never really been as fit as I would have liked to be. I am tired of having a spare tire around my waist. I've always liked martial arts and the only martial artist that I've seen with an atypical body type was Sammo Hung. Every other one has been really fit and ripped. I always wanted a body like that, so here's my chance. I'm going to take this opportunity and I WILL succeed!
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 25 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
10%
Upcoming Contest:
None to date.

I'm not too happy with my current schedule, but that's beside the point. It makes it hard to run off of less than 7 hours of sleep a day and still wake up to do cardio. Compare it to the schedule I had in BMT, Basic Military Training or Boot Camp for all you non-military types, and it's just...
Please note that all of the exercises described in my workout program are based on a Percieved Exertion. In other words, how hard you feel your body is working. In the Weight programs, this is based on the Max Rep weight for the number of reps performed. For cardio, this is how difficult it is...
