When I Started:
May, 2007
How I Started:
It's nothing more attractive to me than someone with a very exceptional physique. I never had that physique. I just grew up as a teen always being compared to my "thinner" sister, and wanted to make changes to prove that I wasn't going to stay this way.
As far as bodybuilding goes, I read Oxygen and Muscle & Fitness Hers on a regular basis. I came across an article about figure competitors and wanted to find a local competition to take part in. I then knew that this was the industry for me, after a failed attempt at beauty pageants.
Why I Love It:
I love working out, no, bodybuilding, because it's rewarding. I can lift things other girls my age probably couldn't and I have "guns" (more like pea-shooters) to show off. But I don't work out for just aesthetics, but I feel that having a great physique can safeguard my health in latter years.
How I Stay Motivated:
I read lots and LOTS of magazines. I look at my idols Ava Cowan and Jennifer Nicole Lee and stay glued to their articles about competing. I constantly reorganize my workout plan and buy new workout clothes and equipment when I've reached a goal.
BB Accomplishments:
None yet, but there will be some soon :-) Stay posted!
This was taken before my December 2007 workout plan. My goals were to lose bodyfat on my abs and lower body while defining my upper body more. In this shot, I want defined abdominals overall.
I was taking this photo for fun, when I realized that I HAD made some improvement in my midsection.
To attain <12% bodyfat and compete in my state NPC Amateur Womens Figure competition.
Goal (Long):
I changed my mind. Once longing to be a pageant girl, I realized the true beauty in being a "sister of iron". To me, there's nothing "hot" about being 110 lbs and 5% bodyfat, especially if there's no muscle.
I've moved forward to something healthier and more rewarding. After losing nearly 20 lbs last spring, I lost a LOT of my strength and am spending this summer to rebuild and repair the muscle I lost. A mistake made by many, but at the age of 19, I have plenty of time to fix it.
Recently, I discovered a local NPC competition being held and looked it up. I enjoyed what I saw. I love competition and this is something I now wish to do. I love "pageantry" but bodybuilding competitions shows off the true beauty of a person's physique. It takes so much more work to keep muscle and stay fit than it is to starve oneself to be "thin", so I figured this industry could be more rewarding for me in the long run.

Well, today I've weighed in at 139.8 lbs... I am so excited because as I am losing weight, I am progressing to a harder, more intense workout than ever before.... Weeks one and two, I did 30-35 mins of cardio... Now, week three is coming up and I will be hitting 40-45 mins cardio. I think that...
**Why This Workout?**
This workout is done so that I can see growth in every muscle. Many recommend that I do a full body workout, but that only helps with fat loss. This workout is best for me because I want to see significant growth in...
