I've worked out my entire life. Fitness has always been important to me. I was a gymnast, dancer, and a cheerleader. More recently though, it was a chance to chase my modeling dreams and so far it's working ;)
Why I Love It:
Working out is great therapy. I love how it makes me feel during and after. I like the challenge and the competition with myself and others. Plus, being able to wear anything or nothing, is a great feeling.
How I Stay Motivated:
It's a lifestyle. My husband works out with me and sometimes my kids too. I read Oxygen Women's Fitness Mag and follow competitions. Monica, Jen, and Jenny Lynn are just a few of my mentors.
BB Accomplishments:
I'm ecstatic to look better now than I did when I was 18, and as a mother of a teenager and a pre-teen I could not feel better about myself. I've lost over 20 lbs since July 1, 08 and over 10% bodyfat.

I was eager to regain my "sexiness". I was at about 130 Lbs and 28% bodyfat. My goal was to be healthy, alive and free in my own skin and nothing was going to stop me :)
I'm the largest and most defined then I've ever been. I'm ecstatic with my progress and enjoying the rewards of being healthy and fit.
To run the Rock-N-Roll Half-Marathon in San Antonio, Texas next fall and to get some arms, shoulders, and abs like "heidismommy".
Goal (Long):
I'm currently repeating the FABULOUS training of P90X (www.BeatOldAge.com). Busting it at home on my off time. I'm still training ME everyday and my clients. Now with plans to complete a half-marathon I'm going to need all the encouragement and advice from distance runners I can get. I'm NOT a distance girl...we can sprint all day long, but I wear down around mile 3-4. I will also be cross-training in biking and swimming as I plan to tackle the task of completing a mini-Triathalon in 2011. I'm a planner and without goals we'll make excuses for everything that comes up and gets in our way. So I'm putting it out there for all of you to help hold me accountable. Remember now, I'm a stubborn, hard-headed female...so no sugar-coating it for me! Hope everyone is ready to face new and rewarding challenges in 2010!
Pullupguy inspires me everyday with his drive to fight for and reach new and challenging goals. He is always positive, encouraging, and motivating. He is my #1 fan. Did I also mention he is my #1 husband! Honey, you inspire me to strive for my dreams and to never give up. I love you!!!
Carlos is truly hardworking and dedicated to health and fitness which is 100% evident in his photos! Any man who is looking for abs you can wash laundry on needs to touch base with this stud :) Carlos, you are a man of character, honor, and dedication that other men should strive to be.
I am blessed to know you and call you friend.
What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
Obviously, the healthier and more in shape I am the better woman I am. I'm happier, feel sexier, have more energy, I'm more comfortable in my skin, I can wear what I want to wear (or not wear). All this in turn makes me a better wife and lover to my husband, a better and more involved mother to my kids, and better able to handle all the crap that life can dish out!Obviously, the healthier and more in shape I am the better woman I am. Are you a parent?
Yes
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you to be a better parent?
As the mother of two teenagers we are always doing something. I have more energy and want to, to participate in activities with them. They are learning healthy eating habits and great workout habits. Sometimes we workout as a family and have challenges to compete. It's lots of great bonding time and they see how my husband and I are setting good examples for them to follow and they are following well.As the mother of two teenagers we are always doing something.
