When I Started:
How I Started:
Started working in a gym when I was 14 and found my "niche." I played softball in college, then ran my first marathon May 2006. After that, I started gaining weight despite continuing my training and dieting. I decided that competing in figure or bodybuilding might give me the opportunity to work with people who may have more insight on how to lose the mysterious 20lbs. (turns out they were hormonal due to stress...not neglecting my diet or training)
Why I Love It:
Because it gives you control over your health. You can choose to be healthy, have a strong body, and try and stay young as long as possible. It gives you the opportunity to do things many people will never put forward the effort to do.
How I Stay Motivated:
By helping other people reach their goals. It also helps that it means more to me to look good and feel good than it tastes to eat the foods that do not help me reach my goals.
BB Accomplishments:
2nd and 3rd places in my first bodybuilding comp!

This was in January, before I started my marathon training. At the time I thought I was going to compete in a figure competition and was training and dieting for that. It was about 3 weeks into training and dieting for it.
i JUST learned a couple poses this morning.. no laughing! this is me practicing.. good thing I have about 14 weeks
It's been a LONG time since I've logged into BodySpace!
So much has changed for me! Somehow, after my show, my weight got pretty high for me despite my diet and training and once again, I was in a tough spot trying to figure out what was wrong. You start to think you're crazy! As it turns out...
Well, we've tried several different things.
I was on a 4 day split with cardio on lifting days and 2 days of cardio only. i was doing different body parts on those days, but not really seeing any changes.
Since then, we have changed the program and this is what I'm doing:
Congrats on your placing in your very first contest. Did you pick up any tips or pointers? I see that you intend to come in leaner for your next one and I wish you good luck and much success.
I just dropped by to wish you all the best in your upcoming contest. Keep pushing yourself to be the best that you can be and you will do great. I look forward to watching your progress.
I see you've chosen to go down the bb comp path, i think you would of succeded in both styles but you will definitly do well in the bb comps, well done
