How I Started:
I got started when I was about 16 years old. I stayed pretty motivated through out high school, working 2 jobs as well. My mother passed away from ovarian cancer when I was 12, so right away I had to be strong on the inside for my 2 younger sisters.. it wasn't until my dad joined Bally's when I started to become strong on the outside and realized the importance of taking care of yourself. He hadn't even really gone to the gym but I was there every night after work, no matter what time I got off. I first fell off the gym boat when I moved to San Diego and life was pretty crazy. It was my first move, and being on my own I had to find myself and deal with some personal struggles. For a while I was just an occasional gym go-er, I pretty much just talked the talk up until my father passed away from cardiac problems in August of 2007. As you can imagine, this was an extremely hard time, as it was eye-opening that I needed to get back on track and take care of myself. Everyday I think of them, and appreciate that my dad signed up at the gym and let me sign up under him. I had a mini-love for fitness back then... but now, it consumes my life. I'm going to keep on striving and pushing myself to be as healthy and lean as I can!
Why I Love It:
I love working out because it makes me feel amazing! I love sweating my ass off and pushing my self with lifting and feeling strong.
How I Stay Motivated:
By updating my iPod frequently with new music, browsing BB.com all day long, reading about others' before/after stories and watching my body transform, compliments from people I love, looking at my own progress pics. More importantly trying to set an example for my family and close friends. I want be as healthy as possible and live as long as I can for my sisters and people I care about.

He's extremely knowledgable and always there to help and stand by his programs with support and motivation. I can tell his training and influence is going to take my fitness to a higher level.
The woman has been along for my ENTIRE fitness journey! She's so knowledgable and always there to help when times have gotten tough. She was my first fitness inspiration to take my training to a higher level. She is awesome!
My first week back on the PFB was a success. Diet was on key everyday, drank a ton of water and got every single workout in, plus a couple extra cardio sessions to kick it up a notch. All in all I'm very happy with it! This week I intend on kicking more butt, pretty much the same as...
well lets just say I know you're having better luck with your ten than I am with my twenty hehe. Slowly but surely, things have been a little hectic lately.
I'm really good. Weight gaining is funny, I feel like I ballooned up but when I check the scale only 4 lbs more (that's since july). My mind plays funny tricks on me. It's hard to gain weight eating clean and still working out. It accounts for high volumes of food and extra fat (but always in the form of nuts, avocado, olive oil or fish). we're still trying for a baby, i wish it'd happen already but I guess all the "practice" is fun. :)
still working out at la fitness?
That's awesome! Still doing carb cycling? I've been doing my own thing for a while now. Still doing weights and added in more cardio. Using Sparkpeople.com for my diet. Have to say, I'm much happier and feel a lot more "normal" doing things this way =)
