Background

When I Started: Jun 2005
HOW I STARTED:

i was a pretty skinny kid when i was 17 and i just wanted to get bigger so i started lifting and it just took off from there

WHY I LOVE IT:

it's a great sport where you have to be tough, both mentally and physically and at the end of the day whether you place 1st or last, no one but you can do the work! It also gives you the work ethic that you can apply to other parts of your life as well!

At the moment it's,looking somehting like this:
Day 1 - Arms
Day 2 - Shoulders and Calves
Day 3 - OFF
day 4 - Back and Biceps
Day 5 - Calves, Chest and Triceps
Day 6 - Quads, Hamstrings and Abs

Abs are usally done on and off during the off season but are done 3-4 times a week pre contest.

cardio is usally about 20 mins 2-3 times a week but done 6 times a week pre contest

A fork in the road So the last few days have been a bit on and off. I managed to get a couple of dayss of trianing in, and since its only been a month form my first show, im still recovering and getting my strength so im not too worried about beating myself up in the gym but i am just trying to eat as well as i can for now since i know the real work will start in january. I sat down with my boss on saturday morning, it was a cold one at that, there was hardly anyone in the cafe we normally meet at. it was 10:30, i'd had my eggs and toast in the morning whihc i regretted now since i walked in t...

Chest, Shoulders, Wanna-be's and Eggs So i left work about 4:15 and got in the car. as luck would have it the windscreen was frosted over....on the inside. "fantastic" i thought to myself. so i scraped that sh**e off and just sat in the car for a good 10 minutes waiting for it to warm up with the heater on full blast. Anyway, got home and was talking to a friend on msn. he's in hong kong atm working for a pretty well known finance company. we went to uni together and we were lifting partners throughout. there were three of us in the group, none of whom except me was into bodybuilding...

So saturday was back day and it was GOOD! i didnt really do a lot off stuff, jsut the excercises that i felt i can get a really good contraction and a true 2-3 second negative on. I started off with 2 handed dumbell rows while leaving against the side of the squat cage. I say Milos Sarcev do this with Silivio Samuel a while back when he was getting him ready for the ironman and so i thought id give it a try. Its a really good movement as form the btoom to the middle position you feel your lower lats get a lot of stretch while form the middle up, its hits your upper back and rhomboids like no o...
