When I Started:
Sep, 2009
How I Started:
My eldest daughters encouraged me to begin working out properly. I have started so many diets and even started exercise programs only to quit within the week (sometimes within a day or two). I want to be motivational and an inspiration for my kids(and get smoking hot in the process)
Why I Love It:
I love the anticipation of change. I love the burning in my muscle as a confirmation that I will achieve the massive changes I want. I enjoy getting up everyday now - it used to be a struggle to do anything.
How I Stay Motivated:
Reading BB.com articles and checking out profiles for inspiration.
I have a new vision in my head of my competiton body. I have a great support network now to help me get there.
BB Accomplishments:
I did my first full body pushup for the first time in my life... yay!!!
To have a smashing, toned hot body with a rock hard bum.
Enter (and WIN :-)) a figure competition in 2010.
Goal (Long):
I have always wanted to have a gorgeous athletic body. Although I used to have great legs (some years ago) I was never athletic looking, just slim. I want to have a small, toned bum, defined arms and cracking calves. I would also like to have a flat stomach again. I feel really excited with anticipation of how I am going to look. I will be able to wear shorts again and run around with my family, without getting puffed and looking like a gumby.
I want to be an inspiration for my daughters.
I love that Laurie shows that you can have a fantastic body at 44, but still shows that even the great bods do it one day at a time. Her profile shows her vulnerability and makes her more real. Is inspirational because she makes you feel like you can do it to... I love that.
I started a new eating program 2 days ago that was designed by my trainer. I asked her to help me achieve my goals of competing and she certainly has her work cut out for her. I have some major bodywork to go to achieve that goal :-)
Anyway, she has put me on quite a strict eating plan...
i'm also considering working with a coach, will have to see if it's in my budget :0) she would do my nutrition for the entire year, coach me on posing, training tips. I'm told theres great stuff on You-Tube. Happy New You by the way!
hey Kim, thanks for the group invite. i in contact with a couple of ladies who competed for the first time and will share everything they have shared. I'm also going to the Arnolds in March so i'm sure i'll have stuff to share. Jumper11 and Making_A_Change are great resources and each have blogs that are packed with good info
I like how you have your rewards for each of your mini goals...I might have to incorporate that into my goals! Good luck with the saying no to the lollies! I think just like any behavior modification it will just take a couple of weeks to get used to:)
I'll definitely be joining you...I'm acutally getting everything prepped to continue my journey....I've got the "bum"...just need to add the "tacular"!! Happy New Year!
Hi Kim, sorry it took me so long to respond, I've been kind of out of the loop for a while :) but I'm back, Started running again today and plan on starting P90X again to get back on track, the good news is that I've managed to lean out some without trying and haven't seen any weight gain during my down time. Thanks for writing :)
I didn't agree with the diet at first either. Once my BF started to drop, I started eating cleaner and lost more BF. The fat loss starts to become exponential when you factor in the gain of muscle mass. The body really is an amazing machine. Good luck and keep it up!
Kim, Just read your blog. Congrats on setting your goals! Yes, 2010 will be your year. You can do whatever you set your mind to. Have a great New Year!
hey kim! hope all is well. I see you left the group. no worries i understand. good luck with your goals and now that Christmas is over i agree its easier to set out to reach your goals. stay in touch and best of luck!
