How I Started:
I realy got started right before I joined the Army. Just trying to get in shape, you know. Now the lives of my friends depend on me being able to move my weight, and theirs if it comes to it, up and down these mountains. So I'm putting on some weight. Not so easy with the food here.
Why I Love It:
I love it because it helps me do my job, for one. But I like the way I feel. Being strong, and ready to keep moving when I reach the top of 10,000ft in body armor with an Aid Bag.
How I Stay Motivated:
Um, I'm stuck here for a year... Not much else to do. My wife loves the way I look, and I'm inclined to please her. Besides, if I ever found myself unable to carry one of my friends to safety, or to a place where I could treat him, and he died because of my weakness, or inability... I would never be able to live with that.
BB Accomplishments:
I finaly crested 200 pounds... That's been an impossiblity for me for years. I finaly put up 320 pounds on my bench press (that's more than two of my wife when she was still big), and dead lifted 405. Ya'll need to be nice to me though. I'm just starting this whole bodybuilding thing, so don't expect me to be on par with ya'll.

This is an older picture. I've always been realy thin. Kinda skrawny. Hopefuly I'm getting away from that. I've gained just over ten pounds between then and now, and I feel great. Only getting better from here.

Goal (Long):
I have sticks that I sometimes call "legs". They're stronger than they look, and they go all day long, but they're tiny, and being long makes them look even smaller. I want to put on 20 more pounds in the six months I have left in Afghanistan. Much of that can go to my lower half without me complaining. My love handles will go away easy enough when I can go for runs again (I can't do that where I am now). But mostly I need some help with these twiggy things.

What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Threw out my back doing squats. I was very new to the idea of lifting and had no idea what I was doing. I was down for almost 2 months. What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
Knowlege and wisdom. Knowlege is the simple knowing of a something. Wisdom is the aplication of that knowlege. If you know you need a spotter, then the wise thing is to ask someone to spot you. Depends on what their purpose is. Lance Armstrong rides bikes better, faster and longer than Roni Coleman. Bruce Lee could knock a man on his butt with a one-inch punch, though he was tiny.
