My Workout Philosophy View My Full Workout Program

My Workout Program

I love to workout 1st thing in the morning ~ It kick starts my morning, revs my metabolism, & seems to be me in a good mood. I try to work out every body part once a week (legs usually 2x-since its my weak area). Never train the same part back to back though. Here is an example of my workout schedule: **Monday~Back/Abs **Tuesday~Arms **Wednesday~Calves/Abs **Thursday~Shoulders **Friday~HIIT/Abs **Saturday~Glutes.Legs **Sunday~Rest I also incorporate about 20 mins of cardio per day ~ whether that be walk (or walk my dogs), bike ride, light jog, jumping on my mini trampoline...I'm not much of a runner *lol* so cardio is pretty basic for me! Also love throwing in some workout dvds to mix things up~P90x ab ripper is a fav!! My Diet~*~Philosophy

I have been eating "clean" for almost 3 years & I honestly will never go back! I havent eaten anything fried, breaded, pizza. cake, JUNK :P for that long. I allow myself a cheat meal once a week~even then, it's still pretty healthy. I just have no desire to eat junk food anymore. & Yes, eating clean-er can be a little costly...But if you are serious about finding a healthier/fitter you, it's the only way to go! I am by no means a trainer or health expert, so this is just advice of course ;) EveryBODY is different~So, you just have to experiment & find what works best for YOU. I am a pretty self-motivated person & I absolutely LoVe to workout, so for me...it's just a part of my daily routine. I get up @ 4:30 ~ eat something small (1/2 sweet potato w/cinnamon/splenda or an apple...The cinnamon spikes your insulin levels & any small fruit will give you a little sugar boost. I also have a sugar free/0 carb (10 cal) RockStar or Monster to kick start my morning workout~which is 5-6am. Jeff & I have converted the 2 bedrooms upstairs into my own little home gym ;) After my workout~I have a protein shake or 4-5 eggwhite omelette w/spinah or other veggies ~ I will also bake 1/2 cup of oats -coated w/0 cal spray butter, cinn/splenda)...Hit the shower~Then off to work *8-5*~I usually eat my oats like a trail mix on my way to work or as soon as I get there. Basically, I eat every 2-3 hours (the harder you lift/or workout-the hungrier you will be). You just have to learn to eat well & have healthy foods @ hand *always*. This is my *pre-competition diet* (not my everyday diet-keep in mind)....BUT~I guarantee it will help you shed some pounds (so long as you stick w/it)... : *Pre-AM workout – & Meal 1 * above ^ *Meal 2* ~ 4oz protein, 1cup veggies, 1/2cup carbs(*swt pot. or oats), & 1/2 grapefruit *Meal 3* ~ Chicken/Fish & 1/2cup carbs *Meal 4* ~ Spinach salad w/shrimp or chicken *w/0 cal balsm.ving.dressing (Walden Farms @ Kroger~ has many 0 cal dressings) *snack* ~ handful of  almonds (5-8) * I buy mine plain/dry & then coat them in 0cal.spray butter w/cinn & splenda *Meal 5* ~ Chicken/Fish & Green Vegetable *usually broccoli, green beans, or asparagus *Meal 6* ~ 1/2 Whey Protein shake *only if still hungry before bed I try not to eat too many carbs in the evening ~ & I also try not to eat after 7:pm....Since we got to bed @ 9 ;) lol So, as far as eating goes ^ that's what works best for me ^ ...Again, everyone is different & likes diff things....

Review: I've tried a few other carb/calorie blockers or meal "allys"...TSN's cal-trim is by far the most efficient. A supplement like this is hard to target results (as it is more of a silent treatment). Though I only allow myself a cheat 1-2x per week, I always take 2 prior & 2 post the meal/treat. It has never given me any negative side-effects~ only made me feel better about my binge ;) I eat clean regularly, so anything out of my diet can easily cause me to bloat~ I never get that... Review: I was never big on supplement powders/drinks (whether that be glutamine, bcaa, pre-workout, recovery, etc)~but Top Secret has created such amazing tasting & effective products that I actually enjoy & prefer drinks over pills now. So I will not be able to begin a comp prep til early March. 12 weeks give or take I'll be ready for something near the end of May.... but MAN do I have the itch to start cutting RIGHT NOW!
