When I Started:
Jan, 2008
How I Started:
I’ve always dreamed of being a bodybuilder since I was 16, but never pursued it. I finally decided to go for it at age 38, during my Iraqi deployment (yes, I am in the army). On 3 Jan 08, I went to the MWR West Gym in Balad, Iraq and asked for guidance and a trainer. Since then, I’ve not stopped training.
Why I Love It:
I love being in the gym. I work out 5 days a week, training all my muscle groups, plus 20-30 minutes of cardio and eat clean. I’ve seen a great improvement in my body and soul.
How I Stay Motivated:
You can say that “I’m addicted to weight training”. I love my transformation and I want to see how far I can go.
BB Accomplishments:
3 Hard Body Competitions held at Joint Base Balad, Iraq (22 Mar 08, 5 Jul 08, and 20 Sep 08). In three competitions, I took 2nd place overall female and won the overall best performance. The 4th Hard Body Competition held at JBB, Iraq on 13 Dec 08 and sponsored by Bodybuilding.com. Check out the article and pictures: http://blog.bodybuilding.com/ProAmContes ts/2009/01/08/joint-base-balad-iraq-hard -body-competition/
Took 1st place overall female and the best performance.
My first figure competition held on 18 Apr 09, North Carolina State Bodybuilding, Fitness, & Fitness Championships. I found out about this competition upon returning from Iraq and it took me 2 months to prepare for it. It was tough! I took 2nd place Master Division and 3rd Place Open Division (Class A). Thanks for all my friends and family for their support!

Why I like this video: I like this video because it is so easy to have excuses for what we feel like we don't have time for, or don't really have our hearts set on achieving.
