I wouldn't say a long way, it's easier to improve your cardio health than to shed 100 lbs and look good on the beach. I'd say running a few miles a day (after that foot improves) and you should be doing good. You have a great starting point.

Kat, First let me say, unless you are pushing alot of weight like I do, sometimes, then size is something to worry about. But you have to build muscle and reduce fatty tissue. One decreases as one increases. Leg presses, squats, leg extensions, leg curls is the way to go. 4-6 sets with 12-15 reps. Yeah they will hurt, but keep stretching and you'll be fine. For calves, seated or standing (machine) should do it. I hope I helped.........Gunz

GREAT luck with the academy.....it's a noble thing you're doing! I've found great workouts on the BB.com database. I like to mix up workouts after 5-6 weeks, to try and keep from plateuing and the soreness of a new workout always feels great. Enjoy your weekend, Luke

Keep up the hard work and you will definitely see changes. It is all trial and error until you get to know what your body needs! Have you considered seeing a trainer for a while?
