When I Started:
Aug, 2008
How I Started:
I always was very self conscious about my body. I always was skinny, I started doing sports that involve the upper body when i was 13. I started out doing outrigger paddling, that brought me a long way...but nothing like the gym. After paddling I started training Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.....that also involved a lot of conditioning...but no weights.
So now Im 16 and I ready to get big!
Why I Love It:
Because I feel stronger, I am focused when I work out. I love to think about the chemistry going on after I work out....the testosterone, the protein, all that. I cant wait to see gains!
How I Stay Motivated:
Thinking about being bigger, I feel better about my self. How I am percieved by people. Seeing friends who are ripped....it just seems right to me. I need to be strong and big like a man should be. Yes the mirror keeps me going! And hopefully some comments....i havent got any yet, but they sure would help.

The trainer at the gym, but i have some feeling he didnt put much thought into my workout plan. I train the same muscles every other day, but sources on the internet say this isnt good....they say your muscles need to recover longer. I think the internet might be right.....because when i take sat/sunday off and go to the gym on monday....i do better on the bench press it seems. The trainer at the gym, but i have some feeling he didnt put much thought into my workout plan. Hello, I'm 16 years old......I just started going to the gym about 1 month ago. The gym will only be available to me for about 10 monthes.....then i move back to hawaii. Do you think its possible for me to go from a 135 one rep max (benchpress) to a 220 one rep max in 10 monthes? And go...
Hey brother,
How are the workouts going? Have you found a lot of useful info on this site. Make sure you continue to make short terms goals. You're young and have a lot of time to improve!
1)Diet
2)Sleep
3)Exercise
You r diet is probably the most important factor in gaining weight. Go onto the bodyspace site and read anything pertaining to nutrition.
thanks bro, keep hittin the gym and workin hard.
and im always up to learn some new stuff so, if you have any tips or anything down the road my ears are open man.
yes you can gain 10 pounds. you could easily gain 30-40 pounds. it wont be all muscle thats why there are cutting cycles. but br careful because of your age your bones arent going to grow as fast as your mescle. so eat a lot. healthy. moderate weight 10-12 reps
hay mate how are you to be honest i cant realy say cause every one has there strong and weak body parts there always some thing that falls behind but its better if u get bigger and stronger at a steady rate any ways its more healthy for you and its weight that your more likley to keep on but just remember you have to train hard and eat hard because you want to bulk up....
cool thanks.. right now I just mainly focusing on the cardio then when I get down to 195 lbs Then I will do the weight training.. lucky for me.. I used to be an PT / Aerobics Inst..
which capsule are you ref too..
May diet is moslty turkey sandwhichs and 2 lean body drinks a day..
on SAT I have a Serious CHEAT DAY.. Last night was awesome..
Stick with your trainer. He is more familiar with your program and needs. 5 X 5's...I'm not sure. Depends on goals, conditioning and body's recovery pace. "Are u ready" is the most important question. Happy training and keep bendin' dem barbells.
I hear ya. Experimenting 2 get the best gains is part of the fun. Maybe a 3-day general split (upper body/lower body/cardio, repeat, rest day) will give better results. The priority now is lifting form & preventing injury. The strength will follow for sure.
A whey isolate, IsoPure, has high protein amt per serving. If you take the number protein gms/serving and divide by serving size, multiply by 100, u get a relative protein "purity" percentage. Experts advise whey protein in morning, whey for post-recovery, with casein at night. If u're comfortable, stay with it. No need to stack now...need 2 know what ur body can tolerate 4 now.
For me, a quality whey protein (ON 100% Gold, IsoPure, NitroTech HC) in the morning b4 breakfast, and after workout (post recovery) is the minimum. There are additional supplements (Casein protein for slow absorption during sleep, Nitric Oxide for wkout focus & pump, creatine for cell volumization), but u can't go wrong starting out w/quality whey protein.
You can make some quality mass gains over 12 months. The key is the right protein intake, clean diet, and a focused growth regimen. No reason why u can't gain a quality 20 lbs in 12 mos.
