Background
I started off just like every other skinny kid does in high school; by invariably suffering from insufficiency and taunt. At the time, I was a meager 88 lbs when I first stepped in a gym with 5-6% BF -- not too far off from where I am right now. I delved into the specifics, monotony, and brutality of the sport after finally realizing bodybuilding was absolutely my key to a metamorphic body image. To me, nothing was more gratifying than improving and exalting my entire body image with abounding happiness. I was hooked, maybe a little too hooked, when I decided to plunge my physique onto the battle field. At age 15, I competed at my first bodybuilding competition located in Wilmington, DE where I placed fairly well, considering I was the clear cut neophyte to this whole charade. I placed 2nd in Teens and 6th in Novice. I was more than pleased with the experience, and if I didn't traumatize a portion of my finger, I would still be on stage today!
That's truly hard to pinpoint. There's a plethora of different reasons. But personally, I feel bodybuilding is the linchpin to one's overall demeanor and self-esteem. Generally, ones who rightfully endures a life of gluttony, consumption and utter disgust tends to be more hostile, insecure, etc. I wanted to amount myself to something unreachable to the normal person; a labeled bodybuilder willing to claw his/her way to the top.
