I perform a very simple 5x5 type program with linear progression. I have made excellent gains using this program.
Monday
Squats
5x5 at the same weight
Bench
5x5 at the same weight
Weighted Pull ups
5x5 at the same weight
Wednesday
Squats
5x5 at the same weight
Bench
5x5 at the same weight
Weighted Dips
5x5 at the same weight
Friday
Squats
5x5 at the same weight
Bench
5x5 at the same weight
Weighted Chin ups
5x5 at the same weight
I take 5 minute rest breaks between each set of exercises so that I can recover and have enough energy to perform the next set. This is especially necessary since I do 5 heavy sets at the same weight.
