I was always active as a kid. Loved any kind of sport that involved a lot of work. Into my teens I started skateboarding seriously. Sounds easy but........ If your serious about it skating 6 hrs a day does alot for you cardio and legs.
When I got to music school and started playing professionally I quit skating. All I did was sit around and practice. I hung out in clubs all the time and drank all the time. Since I'm an ecto I never got too overweight. I was a real out of shape. Smoked and drank all the time. Eventually I meet a drummer who was into working out. He used to skate too. He said he had to because all he did was sit in a seat and play drums all day. Made sense to me. He took me to the gym one day and showed me a simple total body routine. It stuck and I've never stopped since. Today I alternate weight training with martial arts and long bike rides.
Why I Love It:
I makes me feel good mentally and physically.
How I Stay Motivated:
I constantly try to improve. If that doesn't work I just look at old pics of Clarence Bass or Frank Zane.
BB Accomplishments:
Last year I was 155 with 3% bodyfat. If I could do that at 170 I'd be happy!
