My dad has worked out since I was young, so I grew up watching him. Towards the end of college, I got bored with my school work and started reading fitness books instead.
Why I Love It:
Regardless of what else is happening in my life, I can always rely on working out. It's the one thing I have control over and will give back to me whatever I've given to it.
How I Stay Motivated:
I got to a point where my own mom told me that I'd become altogether unrecognizable. I remember how bad it felt to realize that I was less than what I could've been.

July 11, 2008 - Ran 10 miles.
August 10, 2008 - Ran 13 miles.
April 25, 2009 - Ran 13 miles.
May 23, 2009 - Ran 26 miles.
June 11, 2009 - Ran 13 miles.
July 8, 2009 - Ran 13 miles.
July 21, 2009 - Ran 13 miles.
August 31, 2009 - Ran 13 miles.

Goal (Long):
To maintain 135 pounds or less. To control food rather than letting it control me. To leave running in the past. To be grateful for everything I have and for where I've come from. To start my own family and be a mom. To tear apart and rebuild myself if I become mediocre–and be miserable until I do.

Until recently, I was always consistent with my workouts but never with my eating. Between April and August of this year, I ran one full marathon and five half marathons but also gained twenty pounds at the same time. I was simply eating too many calories–mostly from desserts and restaurant...

It's true, I do a lot of talking, but that's only because I can back it up. Don't worry about Money, his loss is a lock. I've already placed some bets. As for the progress pics, just be patient, I can still lean out a little more. Just a few minutes ago I was talking with my sister about how awesome my tibialis muscles look.
Getting snowed in today. Looks like I will be working in the basement. Things are going well. Wife is baking though....bad, so bad. I will have to summon up some will power.

Oh i like that, thats good!!! Umm, for the show i think we are gearing up for a show in the late spring...Depends on how i look. I want to win, not just show up ya kno....if im not lookin good enuff im shooting for novemeber...
yes i remember that first comment- because I saw u liked to jump rope lol. Im doing good! working in a gym keeps me on track with workouts but I havent got to your level of 'no cheat foods' yet...still trying!
