How I Started:
Started working out during college and have continued it off and on since 2000. Decided after getting a Bachelor's in Nutrition, that I wanted to become a personal trainer for a while until I decided the route I wanted to take with my nutrition. I loved training so much, that I decided I wanted to focus primarily on it!
Why I Love It:
I LOVE the way it makes me feel AFTER I'm done! I love meeting people with intense passions for the hobby and the industry because it pushes me to stay on track and to do more!
I love knowing that I don't have to force myself to go to the gym, that I have made it a part of my lifestyle so much, that it just comes natural to me to go.
How I Stay Motivated:
I try new things... I dabble into mountain biking, rock climbing, Cross Fit (which I just stated and I LOVE!!), distance running, group training...
Websites like this are great because you're not the only one keeping yourself accountable! It makes me want to do well so that I can show others my progress!

I want to lose 5-7% body fat and lose about 10 lbs total.
Goal (Long):
I want to lose body fat in my waist, and thighs. I'm pretty happy with my upper body, though I'd like to tone up my back more. I am going to be consistent with doing CrossFit since it is a total body/functional hell-of-a-workout, and track my progress from doing that as well as increasing my running distance. I would like to lose the body fat and the 10 lb and KEEP IT OFF by the time my hubby gets back from Iraq.
I was going to rest today but something got me itchin' to go to the gym, so I went... maybe it's that voice in the back of my head saying"you can get one more step ahead if you go!!" So, I thought to myself, "ok, legs were last Friday, then Saturday was CrossFit, Sunday was chest...
Had a great ego day yesturday. When to SIX FLAG did not where a shirt in the water park. In the past I would where one to cover up but not this time. I had a little tan NO man BOOBS no gut and some muscle to show. That was a great ego boost. I also tooking in 2 protein bars so I would not have to eat fried food all day, yes i know alittle weird but all this hard work and to eat fried food and feel like shit the next day. I don't think so
Good lord today's filthy fifty was brutal! Jess did the scaled version the asked "That's the crossfit you guys always talk about? EASY!" I guess she get the harder one tomorrow!

I am doing the WOD's a day behind the board. So I will do the Filthy Fifty tomorrow. Yesterday, I worked out with Bayou City Crossfit at Memorial Park in Houston. They just opened their affiliate. I am trying to meet as many affiliates in the Houston Area as I can, because I want to be one after I get my Cert. From what I can tell they all work together pretty well, I love that Crossfit sense of community. I am a bit sore from the workout yesterday.
No that name doesn't sound familiar either. I was only there about 6 months. I didn't really like wearing the uniform, PT sales making it ridiculously cheap and the corporateness of it all. I liked being independant.
It was Campbell and Plano Road. It was almost 10 years ago '99-'00 when I was there. There is always a lot of turnover at 24 hour fitness, I'm sure the names changed. That was back when they had the purple Barney shirts for the trainers.
