Overall Goal: Time to get serious again! I am 16 weeks out from the OPA...official contest date is April 24th. This time around I want to come in as completely shredded as ever, while still keeping my feminine curves...and I will do it naturally, as always.
Fit Status:
Diet/training for the OPA starts Jan 4th! Enjoying my last meal...a grilled cheese sandwich, of all things!! 16 weeks out baby!!
I was a competitive dancer, I ate, breathed and slept dance. When I retired from dancing, a huge void developed, and I just had to fill it. Something in my life was missing; a physical and mental challenge that I trive for, and that dance once provided. Then I discovered fitness/figure competitions. I just knew I had to sign myself up for one, and so I did. Figure competitions are very similar to dance. You set goals, you train for months on end, and the prep is both physically and mentally exhausting, yet exhilerating. Then that day comes; your moment to get all dolled up and shine on that stage. I am now addicted to that high you feel on contest day, that similar high I felt on show day with dance. A high of success, and accomplishment; stepping on that stage in your best physical form possible, feeling confident and psyched to show off all your hard work. All the blood (yes, blood..sometimes!), sweat, and tears that went into your training regimin have paid off. All the sacrifices you made, the early morning runs, lifting weights until you couldn't lift anymore, the callouses; it all paid off. There is no better feeling than accomplishing your physical and mental best. When people ask me why I do what I do (and many call me crazy), it is difficult to answer. I do this for a mulititude of reasons, I do this because it has become my life. As I once ate, breathed, and slept dance, I now eat, breathe and sleep fitness. I will continue to work hard to condition and shape my body, to gain muscle and achieve dry, fierce definition. I am excited for what is in store for me. I think 2010 will be a great year :)
Why I Love It:
The rush. Being able to push myself mentally and physically beyond limits...Continuous training is very therapeutic. Not only is it good for the body, it's good for the mind and the soul. I love the feeling of walking into a gym, walking past the muscle heads, and lifting heavy (if not heavier) than them. I feel an exhilerating rush when I pick up the weights and play with the big boys.
How I Stay Motivated:
I eat, sleep, and breathe fitness/training..it comes naturally to me, and doesn't feel like "work". I belong in the gym. Being in the gym is my "zen" time; my time away from the world, and a time to focus on improving my strength, agility, and my mind, body and soul (sounds so cliche, but so very true!)That feeling keeps me going full force. Also, seeing the changes in my body keep me going strong. Nothing gets me more excited than seeing my body grow and transform. Seeing my glutes get rounder, more details poppin in my back, rounder delts with striations, strong arms that show I can kick some ass (LOL)keeps me motivated.

Goal (Long):
I want a rounder apple bottom, rounder delts, a more detailed back, and a drier stomach, with the ultimate 6 pack. I will do interval training every morning for 30 mins, followed by another 30 mins on the stair climber. Weights at night 6 days a week, focusing primarily on my quads, shoulders, and back..SO excited for what's in store for me this year! Gonna kill it!
Sean is a FREAK of nature...shredded beyond belief, and to top it off, is such a fun, friendly, and amazing guy, that will do anything for his friends. Because of him, I have learned to push myself beyond limits. No one is more determined, disciplined, and dedicated like him. He pushes himself 110%, and has inspired me to do the same. His knowledge, love, and passion for bodybuilding is like no other, he truly is one of a kind!
