My Workout Program

Hittin up an endurance specific training regimen geared towards increasing stamina and oxygen utilization but still creating as much trauma to each Type I, II and IIb fiber types for size and explosive strength. Sacrifice size right now for endurance, so it's a fine line between light 50-65% 1rm at 12-15reps and 70-75% 1rm at 8-12 reps.

So far this approach has helped me shed 17.5 pounds since Thanksgiving and built my endurance up 50% of previous 238 lb levels. Somehow strength and consistency is staying steady with solid gains in specific muscle groups; biceps (18") and quads (23") mainly.

Wetter and Colder Than your Typical Summer

Some strange things are brewing in the sky's above, it's never this rainy or cold in early summer, it's a high desert I live in for pete's sake. What the eff is going on? Last weekend another attempt at enjoying the great outdoors was undertaken and ended up getting soaked the whole time....not too bad with the car camping setup we had but it was coming down for hours on Fri night at Anderson ranch and then all day saturday during the drive to Atlanta via gnarly mountain road. All in all a good time, with hours spent sipping cocktails and beer by the river and later the hot springs while it ab...

Memorializing Weekends

This is the official kick-off to summer, gotta get out there and do something truly amazing and memorable. Er & I's plan is to hit the Wallowa Mtns in the NE corner of Oregon and get some high-elevation, gondola serviced Snowkiting in to wrap up the winter season for good. I've been jonesin' lately for the snow and wind, wanting to send the kite and glide over the hills. But, alas there's been no snow for over a month and the H20 is still too chilly to really get excited about getting into, especially for the early morning Lucky Peak sess. So a 4 hour drive and a campout in Lostine Canyon...
