I want to gain some muscle mass, while at the same time cutting down on fat. Target: lean, not Arnold.
Goal (Long):
Since grade 4 I was "the athlete". I played every school sport + soccer until I hit high school. I then dropped to just volleyball, basketball, and soccer, but was active at a high level in these sports for many hours, every week. Over the summer I didn't have summer jobs, just biked around, shot hoops.
Now I'm in University, in Computer Science, and over my first 3 years I have gained ~20lbs and only within the last year increased to more than 1 day of exercise.
My goal is to get back into the cardiovascular shape I was in high school (or exceed it), proportionally grow muscle, and trim down on my "freshman 10" (+10...) I'm looking to get cut, but not to become excessively huge (my girlfriend doesn't like it).
In the long run, I want to start being more healthy now (I'm turning 22 in a few days), and carry this forward for the rest of my life so I'll be able to play sports with my kids.
