Background
Basic Training was the first time I really had to workout. In my teenage years I was blessed with an athletic physique. At around 17-18 right before I joined the military, I was out of school and eating lots of junk food. There was about a 6 month period of weight gain and muscle loss. Basic training was tough for me physically, but I adapted and overcame. I am still in better shape than many of my comrades. In many cases that's not saying much.
