When I Started:
Oct, 1997
How I Started:
I got started with working out during my freshman year of high school in 1997 when we had mandatory weight training for football at a massive 155lbs. I got hoooked from there and lifted somewhat consistently throughout my teens (enough to maintain a fairly muscular & lean physique) but really only started getting serious and gearing my training/nutrition toward bodybuilding late in 2003.
Why I Love It:
Sense of well being, the constant challenge of bettering myself, positive physical changes, improved confidence, having insecure teenaged guys yell "steroids" from their car - that one's the best.
How I Stay Motivated:
I don't even feel like I need motivation to do it - I just love it. Just like sex, I don't exactly need a pep talk to get me going.
BB Accomplishments:
Bench pressing 500lbs, though that's not really a "bodybuilding" accomplishment. Breaking the 20" barrier with my arm size (but who hasn't on the internet?) even though I consider my arms a weak point. Have yet to compete. **P.S. One Rep Max lifts are based on the calculator, as I haven't maxed out on most of these exercises in years.
Why thanks! That is what all the people at my gym are saying too...Makes me feel good to know that my progress is coming along that quickly and that people are noticing :-) Again...Thanks!
