Background
I've been through a lot & can't do a lot of things that most people can. In 95 I was shot 2 times & wound up loosing my hip. After many surgeries I finally got it replaced in 2002. With all that, I let myself go. I guess I could consider my self lucky though. For the amount of exercise I got, I could have been a huge blimp. I never strayed from the 160/170 range (accept with some of the hospital stays, I did drop bellow that). But what I did wind up with was tiny arms and a big belly. I think what woke me up was the "Man boobs". There is no way I would have taken off my shirt in the summer. LOL My wife had to go overseas for 6 months so I figured I'd try to surprise her. My goal was to get to where I was at when I was 21 (which was when we met). I met that goal & have been hooked ever since!
I have to continue working out. I don't know why but after all my surgeries, when I don't work out I get sore as heck. I get all kinds of body aches. Don't let the weather change. It can get so bad, it's like bad bad flu body aches to where I just want to stay in bed. When I'm working out though, very rarely will I get any of the weather aches. Not to mention just feeling better about myself. Let’s face it, when you look like a lazy slob, you feel like one.

My brother is having heart trouble now, at 39! He hasn't taken our family history seriously and I'm sure he's regretting it about now.
Also reading Men's Fitness Mag. keeps me going. I like that one over the others because it has less adds. With the others it seems like you have to dig to find an actual article.
It's a good way to get new ideas & workouts so you don't get stuck in a rut.
