Got started working out when I realized that my youthful metabolism was decreasing slowly but surely. After battling some horrible rounds with cancer I knew I wanted to always be healthy and look as good as I can.
Why I Love It:
Makes me feel good! I love living a healthy lifestyle (although I cheat a lot). Getting past the temptations of bad food is the hardest part.
How I Stay Motivated:
My wife joins me at the gym, I have to bust my ass in the gym to keep up with her looking so good.
One of my best friends is a person trainer, and he constantly kicking my ass with new workouts, I hate him somedays:)
Staying healthy and feeling good about myself is the biggest motivator of all.
BB Accomplishments:
Getting back in shape has been very hard since my battles with cancer. Going from my death-bed, to playing soccer (my 2nd love) in the past 2 years has been hard. But now I play 3-4 games a week and hit the gym whenever I can. After all the chemo I was down -30 lbs, then got fat months afterward after eating myself back into weight, and then some, the atrpohy was so bad I couldn't workout, so I just gave up:(
NO MORE OF THAT!

About 6 months after cancer had ended I gained too much weight back. from 168 to 227 Severe atrophy, no strength, overweight. This is when I started to get motivated to be healthy again.
Still caught in limbo about concentrating on getting either leaner or bigger now or later. Guess I will do both for now. 203lbs
Thanks man! My bro lives just up the road from you in Mill Creek. I'll be competing in Bellevue in the spring of '09 at the Emerald Cup. By the way... big guns dude!
Hey - Thanks for the add. I appreciate it. Unfortunately, Margie died from her cancer(today would have been her 36th B-day), but she put up a good fight and I am glad that you're cancer-free. Great job. I have a lot of respect for you.
Great progress man, excellent work and just an example that a body does not need to be ripped to look good and healthy! Keep working hard and good luck!
How's the "Chesticles" feelin today. I'm already starting to tighten up a little! YEEEAAA!
Great work on putting up 315 on the bench bro! You're making huge gains.
Gonna tear arms up today....Be ready to cry like a skinned knee little girl!

5 weeks and 4 days left brotha! So put down those sausages, pick your crippled ass up off the couch & let's go hit up Back and Abs tonight!
Later Brotha....oh yea..."I Am Beowulf!" HAHAHAAA!
yea man, going through that was definitely a growing experience. I almost look back at it now as a gift- you see life with a whole different perspective. As for fitness, I really don't need motivation :) Good luck on your goals and stay in touch bro.
Jimbo, congrats on ending cancer treatment! That you were a bit overweight at the end is remarkable. After surviving that reaching yoru fitness goals shouldn't be much of a problem. Good luck!
