My first set of pictures...omg I have a long way to go. So out of shape, the 20 minute workout about killed me lol
I took this photo with a front pic, sorry to say the front pic really looks the same in spite of the weight loss. But there is some change on the side shot. Looking foward to seeing what happens the next few weeks.
My goal this month is go get below 200 lbs for the first time in four years!!
Goal (Long):
When I was young I pushed myself to stay in shape but I never really obtained the physique I longed for. It would be awesome to ultimately get to that goal and put my younger self to shame!!
What type of nutrition plan are you currently following? Give full details.
That is a good question. Kind of hard to answer really. I guess it is basically a low carb with increased protein diet. I try to get something healthy for breakfast be it a bran cereal or Special K or maybe make some tasty scrambled eggs. I snack on peanuts through the day though not too much. Perhaps 1 cup in all. Lunch and Dinner are usually Chicken. I am going to be switching off and on to Tuna or some other fish like Salman too. Past 7pm I dont eat unless I get cravings then I might have some celery. Lemon water is a nightly thing for me too. I usually have at least two large glasses of ice water with about 1/4 cup of lemon juice. I like the taste and it seems to stay hunger pains. Also, good medical benefits. = )That is a good question. Kind of hard to answer really. I guess it is basically a low carb with increased protein diet. I have been a bad boy the last two weeks, schedules all messed up, daughter visiting from TN...have not worked out for two weeks until today. Thus the word ow. Killed my legs today!!! But, as next week will see our lives back to normal, my wife and I will be back on track again.
You can PM me or e-mail me for more help if you like. I have my wife PMing with a few ladies here to help her. I have been helped by attmandu and ron parmeter. I want to help others with what has worked for me since others have helped me. My e-mail is drucwolf@bellsouth.net Just don't give up, others have been where you are. Look forward to hearing from you.
i make all food in advance and it gets easier as you get use to doing it. I also will eat plain dry rolled oats, 1/2 cup with 1/2 cup fresh blueberries in the am, but after that I use salad with my own dressing of olive oil and either dark balsamic or white pear balsamic and spices. I also pre make and grill lean burgers med rare and carry them as snacks.
I start the day with 10-12 ozs of Papetti Farms All Whites Liquid Egg Whites with 2 scoops of ON Pro Complex, 1 tbsp of flax oil and 1 tbsp of fish oil as a shake. That starts my day with aroound 80 grams of protein at 6am. I use same after w/o in evening. 3-4 meals are whole food, chicken, beef, pork, tuna, turkey.
Congratulations on making the first step to health and well being. There is no better gift you can give you and your wife than a gym membership that you both will use.
Jim,
There are literally thousands of proteins out there, and let me preface this first by saying that if you can eat whole food, then that is the first choice. That being said, the only proteins I use are from Beverly International. They taste fantastic and I trust the product and have used it for over 4 years. They are more expensive than many out there, but you can rest assured that you are getting a quality protein.
Congratulations. I am happy to hear that. Let me know how your workouts go and don’t try to do everything at once. There is a time for rest and recuperation also. All the best.
WOW, thats awesome!! Why is it that men lose weight faster than women! GEEZ, my husband needs to take advantage of that! He quits drinking sodas and loses weight. Thanks for the comments and keep up the great work, it only gets better ;)
Way to go Jim. It is amazing what tweaking the diet and doing some exercises will do. Now just imagine what will happen when you get that gym membership and are able to use all of the weights and machines. It is not a sprint but a nice steady pace towards achieving your fitness goals. Stay strong, focused and deteremined.
I have been incredibly blessed recently with Bodybuilding.com putting my story and video of my wife and I working out on the top of their front page. I consider that to be an extreme honor and far beyond my wildest dreams. As far as being recognized, I hope if I am that it is in a good way and that I am assisting people to embrace fitness. I look forward to watching your progress and wish you much success.
Wanting to lose weight and then finding the right program to follow to make it happen is difficult. I recommend the 12-week Body for Life program. I was able to lose over 50 lb’s, going from 36 to 10% bodyfat and my wife (bodyspace: judimax) went from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 also in only 12 weeks. You may be amazed at the changes your body will make and how soon they occur. Let us know if you wish more info.
