I gained the "freshman 15" in college and then developed anorexia. I struggled for years with my recovery- I had it under control for awhile, but then started going crazy with the cardio/no food again. Exhausted, I started lifting a bit- to still get a workout, but not kill myself with running. I saw small gains and loved it. I began to realize that being feminine and muscular was sexier to me than being skin and bones- so I started researching bodybuilding and proper nutrition, and now here I am :) For me, bodybuilding is a great way to be healthy, love my body, and keep my anorexia at bay.
I guess it's also in my genes- my dad and his twin are both bodybuilders- formerly competitive.
Why I Love It:
I love the soreness I feel the day after a good session. I love the gains that I see each week. I love the energy that I feel. I love eating every 2-3 hours :)
How I Stay Motivated:
I keep track of my progress, do a lot of reading on bodybuilding.com, and look through fitness magazines.
