I was lucky enough to find someone who truly has a passion for bodybuilding, and perhaps I will also catch the bug. : )
Why I Love It:
The same reason everyone loves to workout...the end result! I will honestly say that the workouts aren't my favorite, but thinking about what it will get me in the future -- now that's much better.
How I Stay Motivated:
Well, no one likes to see a flabby bartender. So, I suppose part of it is for my own financial reasons, which is quite motivating. But now that I've starting training to compete, just knowing that someone out there isn't going to miss a day, and that they are the ones that could beat me -- yeah, that's motivation right there.
This is the beginning. Too much body fat, too little muscle. Lots of work to go, and this is the motivation for it all. I definitely don't want to see this staring back at me in the mirror anymore.
Taken two weeks after 1st workout. My bodyfat is down approximately 2%. Still lots to go, but definitely headed in the right direction. Need more muscle, which I'm workin' on! : )
My goal is to compete in Spring 2008 in the Fitness Model/Bikini Diva category, and perhaps advance to Figure further down the road.
Goal (Long):
In order to compete in the Spring of 2008, I know that I have my work cut out for me, seeing as I have never really trained consistently for any length of time with a proper nutrition plan in place. I'm at a point now, however, where I have the will power and determination to really see this through. Also, having the support of my awesome boyfriend (whom just so happens to be a trainer and bodybuilder) definitely gives me a reason to stick to my training. Training and competing together will be an awesome experience, I'm sure. Initially, I'd like to add about 10 lbs of muscle and lose 6-8% bodyfat. I feel that this is a realistic goal that will get me started in the right direction. And with weight training 4 days a week & eating a clean diet, I'm just beginning the journey.
About a month or so ago I completely cut out all animal products & decided that vegan life is here to stay for me. With my diet change I can't believe how fast I am dropping body fat (at least in the mirror -- I haven't had my bodyfat measured lately, but perhaps will do that today). ...
My current workout program as of September 2007 is as follows. Short, intense workouts are the focus for me right now, along with clean eating. This is just the beginning of my new training, so I will follow this for about a month and then adjust and add/subtract exercises as necessary. :...
