I got into getting fit talking to my nephew who is a Navy SEAL. I saw a program that he and many SEALs are doing now and the Marines have also taken it up called CROSSFIT. I have already begun to feel and see the changes.
Why I Love It:
I dont love working out yet. I have not got to that addiction mode yet most people seem to get to. I like afterwards knowing I have done it and did do it instead of putting it off.
How I Stay Motivated:
Keep thinking about what i look and feel like with out staying in shape. I also then think about how im going to look and feel. I dont concentrate on how tough the workout is going to be and if I slip and do think about it I just say it wont last that long I have watched TV for longer. :)
To get in the best shape of my life. Lose fat and get strong and physically fit.
Goal (Long):
My goal is to create a permanent life change both, in physical fitness and nutrition. I want this to be a change for me that my wife and children can see and want to follow.
What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
Im thinking one should get really started after hitting puberty. I think that kids can always be doing body weight exercises. For example climbing a rope or pushups. But their bones are not fully formed or hardened. So with weights i believe that after puperty they body is at the point where it can now really work out.Im thinking one should get really started after hitting puberty. What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Perseverance, Perseverance, Perseverance!!! Don’t quit! Don’t say can’t and don’t believe the negative. Success is falling nine times and getting up ten. Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do.

“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.” - Abraham Lincoln Perseverance, Perseverance, Perseverance!!! Don’t quit! Changing my eating habits but hard to resist. Working on self-discipline today and every day. I am motivated to change but want results immediately. Have to stay real and know time and work make change. This sight is amazing and im most amazed at the women they put them selves out...
Of course! Anytime you have a question or need help just let me know! My head is full of knowledge and I would love to share it with someone. I think you will find that the BB community is very helpful and supportive.
You're welcome, sounds good :). Feel free to ask anything. I'm not super knowledgeable as I consider myself a relative newbie still...everything I've learned I've learned through this site and the people here. But I'm more than willing lend a hand and offer encouragement and support :).
Ay Jagwar, how's the CrossFit workouts going? Have you joined the CrossFit body group yet? There's a ton of like minded individuals on that group, and it's very motivational. Check it out!
No problem. Have you determined a specific goal yet? Especially a short term one that will give you something tangible to shoot for. Like you said stick with the basics. Get your nutrition in line (don't worry about suppliments yet), a workout schedule set up, plenty of sleep/recovery time and stick with it. Consistency may be the most important thing for now. Come on back if you need a boost.
